extrahammer Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 After reading through the Tyrod legacy thread (really makes you love the offseason) I woke up this morning wanting to fight by ranking the top 3 quarterbacks for the Bills between the Post-Kelly era and before Josh arrived. Curious how each of you would rank the Bills quarterbacks between 1997-2017, here are your options: Todd Collins Doug Flutie Rob Johnson (pro tip: this is not the answer) Alex Van Pelt Drew Bledsoe J.P. Losman Kelly Holcomb Trent Edwards Ryan Fitzpatrick Brian Brohm E.J. Manuel Thad Lewis Jeff Tuel Kyle Orton Tyrod Taylor Matt Cassel Nathaniel Peterman Who are your top 3? 2 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Bledsoe, Flutie, Taylor. Honorable Mentions: Fitz and Orton. Dishonorable Mentions: Everyone else. 6 1 1 Quote
Draconator Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Peterman. Everyone else is secondary. 1 6 1 Quote
Greg S Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Just now, DrDawkinstein said: Bledsoe, Flutie, Taylor. Honorable Mentions: Fitz and Orton. Dishonorable Mentions: Everyone else. This doesn't apply to the above list but there are only 3 QB's worth mentioning in Bills history. Going in order of when they played for the Bills its Kemp, Ferguson, and Kelly. I didn't count Allen because he is still playing but he will be #1 on the Bills QB list assuming injuries don't play a factor. As for this list I would say your selections are pretty good. I might swap Taylor and Fitz but that's it. Quote

mushypeaches Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Why does it feel like we've done this awful exercise every freaking off-season? I'm going to go and watch some Josh Allen highlights and try to forget that turdburgers like Trent Edwards ever suited up for our team 2 1 Quote
uticaclub Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Flutie & Tyrod made the playoffs, so they have to make it (I'm not a Tyrod fan at all) Then it's really between Orton & Bledsoe & I'd go Bledsoe. Quote
White Linen Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 I'll do a list when Orton is on the wall, where he belongs. 1 Quote

Thad Lewis wasn’t very good, but he did exceed expectations. The Pill and Holcomb were meh. The others were either irrelevant (ie. no real playing time) or did more harm than good. 1 Quote

ToGoGo Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 It's strange that so many posts this offseason keep talking about the mediocre past QBs instead of the HOF QB we finally have now. Some people can't let go. Quote

Thankfully TC is here and soon preseason and then we will have Bills football to talk about in 2022. 1 Quote
