BillsFan4 Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Nice goal Peterka! Hopefully that will get him going again. He looked relieved to have scored. I think he was starting to get frustrated. It would be a big boost if he started producing again. Quote

I like when goalies protect the post when the puck is moving behind the net, but the 2nd goal....it came out to the high slot and he stayed on his pads. So many things to hate about that 2nd period... I was hoping we hit another goal before the 10 minute mark... and we did.... lets Go.. Quote
BillsFan4 Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Crap. Hope this loss doesn’t come back to haunt them. They played a good 3rd but it wasn’t enough to get out of the 4-1 hole they dug. Definitely hurts not getting any points against a crap opponent. 1 2 Quote
Jauronimo Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 (edited) I don't think the Sabres could beat the Washington Generals at home. On the road they're a playoff caliber team. Edited March 1, 2023 by Jauronimo Quote

Started in 1926 which is 97 years ago. 4 Cups in 97 years. Worst among all original 6 teams. 3 of those Cups were won before expansion so make it 1 in 97 post expansion. Quote

Plus, we don’t have many prospects with Bloom’s skill set. I mean, Bloom isn’t a top tier prospect by any means but he was an intriguing bottom 6 forward that brought a skill set we don’t really have much of. I don’t get this trade. We couldn’t have just given up a late round pick for a depth defenseman? he was probably the Canucks worst defenseman, and that’s saying something 😂 This is prrety much exactly what I'd hoped they'd have the patience to avoid. Trading away quality prospects for JAGS that are going to make no difference whatsoever to the present or future of this team. 1 Quote

I will trust the fancy numbers guys that are telling KA and Donnie that in his system Stillman will flourish. With all that has been done in the East so far, anything the Sabres do has to be focused on next year. Sure playoffs this year would be fun for a week, contending for a cup for years will be way more funner 2 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Fun being in the hunt, and every game counts now. But I'm not too upset about last night. (For that matter, the Sabres are already meeting/exceeding my expectation for this year, so I'm not going to be upset with anything really) We were due to drop a game after playing lights out through the Florida stand. Hope the boys enjoyed their "night off" and show up ready to play against Boston. Not going to be an easy one. 1 Quote

I don't think he's ever been good, but apparently they think he fits our system. Was hoping for Chickenman, but AZ needs to drop their price. We'll see what happens as the deadline approaches. I'm not too unhappy with the lack of deals. So far, it looks to me like we might have hit on all three of our 2022 first rounders, so I'd be leary to include them in a trade. Levi signing and being the real deal will play a large part in the future being as fun as we all hope. (Yes, I know Levi will need at least eighteen months to two years to properly develop before he likely sees the NHL ice apart from a game or two looksee.) Edited March 1, 2023 by Dr. Who 1 Quote
Buffalo Super Fan Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 (edited) That was a bad loss by the Buffalo Sabres at home last night against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Also the Patrick Kane to the New York Rangers trade. The Chicago Blackhawks are a large market team they should never rebuild. Patrick Kane wanted out because of the rebuild that should never have happened. The Chicago Blackhawks got ripped off like the Buffalo Sabres always were before Kevyn Adams took over. Chicago, Toronto, Los Angeles along with New York Islanders should never rebuild. The New York Rangers aren’t winning a Stanley Cup this season but you got to be in the playoffs for a chance to win it. That is why the Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula is a bum as a sports owner trading off his complete Sabres team for a chance Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel that was completely idiotic. Sacrificing 11 years to get back to where we were before trading Ryan Miller in the hunt for a NHL playoff spot. Face it the Knox Brothers were smarter doing the New York Rangers way of always making the playoffs for a chance at the Stanley Cup then that bum Terry Pegula that some Buffalo fans want to alway give Terry Pegula a pass. We had no chance for 11 years ridiculous just like the current Chicago Blackhawks the son Rocky Wertiz is getting cheap like his father “Dollar Bill” Bill Wirtiz in his old age in my opinion. zow2 Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Last i checked the Sabres had the 2nd best offense in the league. If they miss the playoffs with that kind of offense, that would be an absolute embarrassment and people should be fired. There's no guarantee that next season they will be scoring at this clip. Don't fall into that trap that thinking next year they will ascend even higher. That's not true. They should have been all in on trading for a goalie this season...even a rental. The time is now. 1 1 Quote

Keep these hot takes to the Bills discussion. The NHL is an old man's league. Our team has an average age of like 24. We have multiple stars locked up for the next 7 years. Enjoy the ride. 2 Quote

Dr. Who Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Ottawa ends up with Chychrun for a price KA could easily have beat. It did not cost prospects. Really don't get the thinking here. Pretty exasperating. 1 Quote
