Rico Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 Ridiculous, but at least they are more worthy than Penn State or the other scrub teams that joined a few years ago. 1 Quote

Augie Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 Pretty soon it will be the Big 10, the SEC and then the Slippery Rocks and Lehigh's of the world. All in the name of money, of course! 1 Quote
RaoulDuke79 Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 NCAA football is getting turned on it's head. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Quote
YoloinOhio Posted June 30, 2022 Author Posted June 30, 2022 (edited) And 9am Saturday kickoffs on the left coast! Edited June 30, 2022 by YoloinOhio 1 Quote
BillsfaninSB Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 I would love it if Colorado State joins the PAC-12. Renew that rivalry with CU. 1 Quote

Who is going to tune in for Rutgers @ UCLA at 7pm PT or USC @ Maryland at 9am PT? You have to figure the next dominoes are going to be Oregon, Washington, and maybe Stanford and Cal. At that point, Notre Dame will have half of their football schedule against Big Ten opponents... hmm... I wonder what happens to the Rose Bowl out of all of this when it's not involved in the playoff. Maybe they host the B1G conference championship? Quote

I think the B1G championship will rotate between SoFi and Lucas Oil Quote
Mike in Horseheads Posted July 1, 2022 Posted July 1, 2022 Looks like its approved https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/34173688/source-usc-ucla-considering-move-pac-12-big-ten I'm sure this is the best for the student athletes who are the most important. Quote
Greg S Posted July 1, 2022 Posted July 1, 2022 One step closer to 4 super conferences and an 8 team playoff? Quote

Bill from NYC Posted July 1, 2022 Posted July 1, 2022 This scenario puzzles me. It would not seem to provide USC or UCLA with a better chance of winning a title. That said, I think that this move, as well as Texas and Oklahoma entering the SEC benefits Dabo Swinney and Clemson the most. The ACC has no really good teams other than Clemson, unlike the Big 10 and the SEC which are usually stacked with tough, talented teams. Dabo usually hs a deep enough squad where he can pull most of the starters and beat his weak opponents with second and third stringers, while teams like Alabama and OSU face strong teams. I've seen Clemson arrive to the playoffs with a comparatively fresh, rested team. Notre Dame should also like this setup. At some point these conferences will probably leave the NCAA, or so it would seem. Quote

Mark Vader Posted July 1, 2022 Posted July 1, 2022 Let's also remember how this affects college basketball too. 1 Quote
US Egg Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 There will still be punching bag teams in these super conferences who gladly cash in being such. The majority of D-I College football teams are have nots and being pushed further from relevancy. 1 Quote
