Which sounds quite restrictive relative to what it is/was here. Is that correct? How many states just banned abortion out right?
ALF Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Sen. Collins suggests Kavanaugh, Gorsuch lied during Senate testimony about respecting Supreme Court precedent Collins says the court 'abandoned a fifty-year precedent' Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, suggested on Friday in the wake of the Supreme Court’s move to strike down Roe v. Wade that Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh misled her on the abortion issue in testimony and in private meetings. "This decision is inconsistent with what Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh said in their testimony and their meetings with me, where they both were insistent on the importance of supporting long-standing precedents that the country has relied upon," Collins said in a statement shortly after the court struck down Roe v. Wade by a 5-4 vote. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/sen-collins-suggests-kavanaugh-gorsuch-lied Sen Joe Manchin agrees with Sen Collins

Coffeesforclosers Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 So in the states that just banned abortion. Does this mean women will have to register their pregnancies with the government? How are we supposed to make sure all these pregnancies are being carried to term? Has anybody thought about enforcement, what it looks like, and the implications? 3

Which is why everyone should delete their period tracking apps.
Wacka Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Tenth Amendment The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people. Finally the Tenth Amendment is upheld! 3
Andy1 Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 If men got pregnant, the right to have an abortion would be the 1st Amendment in the Constitutuon. 1 1 1

ChiGoose Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 2 minutes ago, LeGOATski said: The states will what? I think that was the question. The states will all set their own laws, so that rich people always have access to abortion but poor people may not. Some states will enact long arm statutes to punish people seeking abortions elsewhere. People in some states will have more rights than people in other states. People in some states may be prosecuted for miscarriages, needing to spend money on a lawyer to fight the charges. Taxpayers in some states will have to pay for care for people fleeing other states for medical care. That is what “letting the states decide” means. 2 1
