Now the Flores firing makes sense.

At the time, it seemed to come out of nowhere, because he seemed to be doing a pretty good job there and had the team going in the right direction. Plus they have a QB that is better than Mahomes, so they are set there too.

Dolphins are the kings of "were going to do this"

This just scream Ross trying to cover himself when things go bad. We were gonna have Brady and SP but we ended up Tua and Hill instead

Payton would actually be a good fit for Tua as he’s got the same PHYSICAL skill set as Brees.

Except in decisiveness in throwing the damn ball

Exactly. I’m just saying they are built similarly. If anybody can get something out of Tua, it would’ve been Payton who transformed Brees from very good to elite.

How would that have worked anyway? Isn't Payton still under contract with the Saints? They would have had to give up a lot of draft picks

The same way they were going to make Brady work while he was under contract in Tampa. $$$ and draft picks.

If true this has to be very awkward for McDaniel (who is a very awkward cat to begin with).

Just like all the Tua/Watson chatter last year.

But at the end of the day a lot of us are 'Plan B' so to speak even in our professional jobs where the primary candidate declines an offer. Just how things work in life.

Thank you, Bill Belichick & Brian Flores for tanking this deal! :worthy:

Supposedly Bill makes 25 mil per from the Pats and he probably wants nobody near his number.

Also pretty sure he didnt want Tom back in the AFC East, kicking his ass every year.

So they wanted him and Brady or him and deshaun and ended up with Tua and the Tinder Swindler.

There also were rumors that when they were trying to trade for Watson, the Phins offered to settle the cases against him for $100k each.
