As the story unfolded yesterday afternoon, I largely assumed that Stefanik and the National Republican Congressional Committee would cut Paladino loose. After all, once a congressional candidate describes Hitler as “the kind of leader we need today,” that seems like the sort of development that would be a deal-breaker in GOP politics, even in 2022.

But there was no such denunciation. Though I’ll gladly update this if the circumstances change, as of this morning, Stefanik doesn't appear to have pulled her Paladino endorsement; he’s still a congressional candidate; and he might very well win the congressional seat.

I’ve come across Paladino a few times and he’s always came off as an arrogant jerk.  Buffalo can do better.

Your use of quotes here is dishonest.

"Hitler Is The Kind Of Leader We Need Now"

He did not say that.

I know your response will be the standard, you must support Palladino, or the more laughable you are defending Hitler.

But I am simply pointing out to the board that you are a liar.

You can deflect, but you cannot deny your falsehood.

If you were a man you would delete this BS, or at least change it to indicate that you are spinning the actual quote.

I thought that's what Libs/Tibs (same thing) do though .

Pointing out your lie about quotes, and seeing your cowardice to correct it,

and he/she/it celebrates that he is living in other posters heads.

🙄

What more proof of Tibs inadequacy is needed.

Although his unsurprising response will cement it.

This.

Party is being overrun with semi-literate, conspiracy fueled morons. Seems like we have a good number of them in this thread.

A few sensible candidates and the Dems could be easily routed. But nooooo, the loudest voices in the room are once again the village idiots.

Seriously frustrating.

Paladino: "Hitler Is The Kind Of Leader We Need Now"

Still leaving the fake quote in the thread title I see,

It says all you need to know about the O.P.

and that essentially sums up all you've said about this topic, haven't bothered to address how what he said is still not good or defend it in some way.

What he said was incredibly poor judgement. It is so blatant that it really didn't need to be countered.

No matter that his point was that we need a leader that can inspire people, when he used the Hitler example he forfeits any authenticity.

"And he would get up there screaming these epithets and these people were just – they were hypnotized by him," Paladino told WBEN host Peter Hunt on Feb. 13, 2021. "That's, I guess, I guess that's the kind of leader we need today. We need somebody inspirational. We need somebody that is a doer, has been there and done it.”

Now, you do the same WAR.

Should the o.p.'s use of quotes on an obviously untrue statement be left up even after it has been pointed out.

Why haven't you addressed this in your posts ?

It's a terrible idea what he said even in context. What we need a leader that can create the kind of populous movement that allowed Hitler to become a dictator and commit the genocides that he did? Maybe you're not supporting the things he did but wishing for someone with the apparent charisma to be able to do that isn't a great look either.

It's fine Paladino brought the Hitler line on himself, and the op has the article with the full context right there.

Hitler was more like the current democrats, he was for socialism and was hell bent on

annihilating a group of people. Current democrats just haven't figured out how to get

the ovens burning.
