Who wants to watch a bunch of blowhards and a posse of ex-Patriot players try and churn out click bait? Agree.. used to watch the Sunday Pre-Game back in the day when Chris Berman hosted it , came on at 11 AM.., was all legit , actual , pre-game stuff.. now its a clown show .. 5
Orlando Buffalo Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 ESPN pushed their own demise by getting away from just sports. The majority of my students know athletes more by their out of sports persona- fashion, food, whatever- than by their actual sports ability. ESPN did not need to cover all the other parts as deeply as they did. Once the other stuff eclipsed 50% of the time I had no use for ESPN.
Doc Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 The thing that sucks is that they're HQ'd in the town next to mine and in which my MIL lives. If that goes under...
ProcessTruster Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 ESPN+ rocks for 6.99 per month, great hockey, soccer, golf 1 1
hamat711 Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 Can we not post anything related to Clay Travis? 2 1 2
Mike in Horseheads Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 When ABC had the Indy 500 we were slammed with coverage on the website. Today a fantastic race and it took them over a hour to post even who the winner was. So much for World Wide Leader. I bet so many of the people that left must just laugh at them. 2

For the most part, a quick soundbite of information on Twitter is all you need in the world of sports. People just don't sit in front of a machine tied to a room called a "TV" to get information now--especially sports information. It makes total sense that ESPN would be dying. It is the politics - if I want to listen to politics I am not getting on a sports channel, but more so the contrived arguments. Everybody is given a point to defend and get overly loud defending it even if it is makes no sense. In the old days they had sports and sports highlights .. and that was about it. It was great TV 1 4 1

Southern_Bills Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 It's hard for companies to accept change and transition these days. ESPN has alot of footholds in some sports, NFL isn't one of them, but I couldn't see their college football content going away. The company will have to make major changes and downsize to what they do well to survive. If I was them I'd sell MNF, it isn't what it used to be.

Once the premiere sports network, has become a complete waste of sports fans time. Granted, streaming is killing cable, but this show has been dying for years. Aside from Wilbon & Cornhieser (which I don’t watch anymore either), I literally can’t stand any of their talking heads. Stephen A?, Keyshawn? Steve Levy? Bayless? Irvin? Fuggetaboutit ! Well holy hell pigs must fly and the world must be ending soon, because Chandler and I agree on something!!! I never watch in real time. I still go to the website and occasionally will click a short video clip from time to time. Had ESPN+ subscription back in the day but cancelled probably 6 years or so ago.
Doc Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 I get ESPN+, Disney+ and Hulu included in my Verizon wireless service.

GETTOTHE50 Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 I used to love sports center, but it’s more like woke center nowadays. haven’t watched a full hour of it in years. 4 1 1 1

Rather than 60 or 80 bucks a month for cable, you’ll be paying $15 for Netflix, $15 for ESPN+, $12 for Hulu, $15 for HBO max, etc etc etc. And of course, it takes way longer to find something you want to watch by switching these streaming services. We have been hoodwinked. Go to the library and take out a book and read it. Free. 1 2

I read almost every day at lunch. I go to the book table at Costco and look for stuff I like, then give them to my mom’s retirement place for their library. My shelves have plenty, let others enjoy them. ESPN is hot garbage. Their shows all have the same formula. A bunch of guys all yelling at the same time. No thanks! Hiring The Booger McFarland to staunchly defend the crack back block call on Cody Ford (which later received an apology letter from the NFL) is indefensible. He’s an insufferable clown, and I’ll avoid the network just on him alone. Mike & Mike was the last decent thing they had. I haven’t looked in a while, but if you want a real laugh check out their college basketball recruiting. It’s a dumpster fire of indifference and incompetence. They should shut that down completely, because it’s embarrassingly weak and out of date. Less (as in ZERO) would be more, there. . Edited May 30, 2022 by Augie 3
