Albany,n.y. Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 I could eat a 50 wing bucket when I lived in Buffalo in the early 1980s. If I tried that today I'd end up in the morgue. 1 Quote

Without question the hottest wings I've ever had. I could only eat like 3 lol OMG, I grew up walking distance from Sal's. I haven't live there in 35+ years. Back in the early 80s it was wings, pitchers of cheap beer and pool. Folks would go there just to try the extra-hot. Sal himself would bring them out, always giggling when he served them. 1 Quote

But why bother if they are not straight up Buffalo Wings with blue cheese? Is Cajun Honey BBQ even a thing? Cajun cuisine is the most bastardized cuisine in the history of cuisines, Buffalo Wings might be the second. That being said, I can only eat about a dozen. Quote
zow2 Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 That's impressive. I usually order 30. I used to eat a ton more but i eat about 10 and my 17 year old son eats the rest. We usually have pizza as well. Quote
I'm Spartacus Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 When wings first got started, we used to go to a place in Riverside called Quinn's (Thomas E. Hughies was across the street). Believe it or not, a double order of wings (20 mixed) only cost $3.75!!! Wings are like a $1.00 each now 😞 Quote
frostbitmic Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 20 is the most I've ever eaten and the last 4 or 5 went down slow. The place I ate 20 has some meaty wings though. Quote

You are showing single order prices (I assume) that are all over $1.00 per wing. Where are you getting 15 cent wings from? Quote

I also stopped buying wings unless I'm ordering pizza. Otherwise I just air fry my own. Air fried wings are nothing compared to the real deal. If you have some sort of secret please share. Wings are meant to be deep fried. Anytime I’ve had them air fried they aren’t the same 1 Quote

I like to soak mine in oil for an hour before frying them in the air fryer. Still not as good but gives it that oily taste that makes it closer. 1 Quote

Just curious about what you mean to put it in perspective. It’s insane how expensive they have gotten! Quote
Doc Brown Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 College days three of us would split two buckets with pitchers Genesee Cream Ale. I'm sure I hit 50 at least once. I type this after eating a lettuce wrap with unsweetened ice tea. Getting older sucks. 3 1 Quote
