Where do we sit on cap space?

I read on a pod cast that we are actually over on cap space now that we have signed our rookies (which would explain no bradberry CB)

 

 

Is anyone keeping track on where we are at right now?

We can't be over. You are not allowed to be "over" once the league year has begun. However, the cap currently is counted on the 'top 51'. According to statements Beane has made he thinks he might need to make some room to get a projected 53 under the cap, and then obviously give himself a little pot for signings in-season of any street FAs to cover injuries etc.

That's basic accounting work and can easily be done with a release or two and/or restructure.

According to Overthecap.com we have $5,665,218.

I thought we had a few million last I seen. I expect that to be emergency money though for the season. Rather we make a big trade or have injuries and need better than practice squad replacements.

Saw something yesterday (sorry can't remember where) saying we had 5.05 million in cap space as of now.

I think that's only counting the Top 51 not all the players...that works up until after the preseason when they need to be under the cap for all players.

According to spotrac we have+$5,055.776. counting for 51.  Counting all players, we are-$23.784224 in the hole. We have about 16 million in dead cap money also.

John, bud you might want to check OTC and Spotrac 24 hrs after you hear the last contract is signed.

 

I believe we’re around $5 mil. Or so over the cap.
