Freddie's Dead Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 This was done on a bet. I forget the game, but Marv said if they won, he'd write a fight song, and he did. Many here have denigrated the song in the past, but being a musician and frustrated song writer, it's a pretty good fight song. I wish anything I ever wrote was as good. 4 Quote
Marv's Neighbor Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Love Marv, but Marv, don't quit your day job! This is just pitiful. 1 Quote
Albany,n.y. Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 The best reaction I saw was a letter in the BN sports section the following Sunday that said: Marv to Bills "Win or I'll sing again" 1 1 3 Quote
Beast Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Could have taken a verse or two and put it to band music and it could have been our "Hail to the Redskins" and got rid of the Shout song. Quote
Tisker A Tasker Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Say what you want, but its better than the Vikings song written by Prince! Quote

Mickey Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 And it was at that moment that Bob Dylan knew he was going to pass on Marv's offer to write a song for his next album. 1 1 Quote

Steptide Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Wgr played this a few times during the season last year. Love Marv, but everytime I hear it, it makes me cringe. It's so terrible, but at the same time that's what makes it great 1 1 Quote
machine gun kelly Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 This was as bad as Talking Proud. Sad the youngins have no idea what I’m saying. That was the Joe Cribbs era. Love that Marv was willing to do it. Not that it sounded good as it didn’t. At least he was a good sport. Id rather hear his mini speeches, where would you want to be, etc. Quote
Let's Go Buffalo Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Mr. Marv Levy was and still is one of a kind! Quote
holla83 Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 (edited) The Jambrones did a remake of this a few years back. It's on YouTube Edited May 12, 2022 by holla83 Quote

That lost bet was everywhere for years following the performance. Pretty sure it was even the theme song of the old Marv Levy Show. Quote
Giuseppe Tognarelli Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 (edited) This has been discussed on the board frequently and is a fun part of Bills history. I'm shocked that folks haven't heard of it. Makes me wonder if people think I am making it up when I post the lyrics in pregame threads. Edited May 12, 2022 by Giuseppe Tognarelli Quote
