I can point to documents going back decades where actual avowed Marxists say that the traditional economic class struggle to bring on the revolution wasn't going to work here in the US, instead they needed to pivot to cultural Marxism and divide people by race, sexual orientation and gender.  And here we are.

 

 

Meanwhile the left has accusations, via a media dominated by leftists who promote the same cultural Marxist tactics outlined above, that a multi billionaire with Asperger's did a nazi salute.

The Marxists here in the USA realized early on in the 20th century that they weren't going to be able to start a class war on economic grounds as in classical Marxism, the middle and lower middle class in this country had it too good. They couldn't be radicalized on a large enough scale.

 

So they shifted, and the academics clearly wrote about this shift, to different oppressors vs oppressed models. On race. On gender. On sexual orientation. On borders. Etc...

 

But this takes time. Decades to infiltrate institutions and indoctrinate generations of young minds.

The long march through the US institutions began with pupils of the Frankfurt school coming to the US decades ago and planting the seeds of critical theory and cultural Marxism. They knew the classical struggle of Marx pitting the proletariat vs. bourgeoisie couldn't fly here because it was too easy to gain middle class status here in the US, so driving a wedge there wouldn't fly.
