Why are you not listing Weatherford or Blankenship here? Both are probably the best safeties we can get in UDFA if you sort through all the various scouting profiles. We need safety depth because what we do know is Poyer isn’t happy and we have uncertainty in his backups.

I'm not a pro scout.

Just posted some guys I liked. I'll look up Weatherford and Blankenship.

I agree, Buffalo missed badly on some S depth this draft and they need it

Dont hate the draft at all, I’m just scratching my head at the strategy…. Why the obsession with defensive pieces that don’t move the needle at all for your team instead of better players on offense to ensure the one guy who makes all the difference for your team?… somewhat hate that about McDermott… he is still too defensive focused for a team that’s success is all about Josh Allen.

Huh?  Out of the 8 picks, 3 were offense, 4 were defense and 1 was STs.

We already have 3 depth Safetys on the team…

Spitballing:

100 x 13 for Diggs = 1300/ 10

65 x 12.5 for Davis = 812/ 6

65 x 10 for Crowder = 650/ 4

55 x 10 for Knox = 500/ 8

That is 3312 without RBs or other WR/TE

Add 1000 around the other RBs/ WR/ TE

Would anyone be surprised to see

25 x 11 for McKenze = 275/ 2

50 x 8 for RBs = 400/ 4

20 x 9 for Howard = 180/ 2

that is 855, with 145/ 4 for others

4320 passing yards/ 40 TD seems about right as an estimate.

So you are predicting another decline in passing yardage for Allen?

If Allen just gets back to his 2020 production.....about 285 yards per game.......then he will throw for 4800+.

Remember.........his numbers last year were tamped down by some pretty bad games........like the 120 yard day against the Falcons.........and some really terrible weather.

I think he puts up Brady/Herbert/Stafford/Mahomes type yardage this year.......if the OL or an injury to Diggs/Davis doesn't sabotage him.

Last season was a relative struggle.

They already have 3 guys that they really like.  Josh Thomas was relegated to the PS last year.  I don’t think the Bills are anywhere near as worried about depth or Poyer as the Fans

Will any team sign off on the Medicals? That spinal injury is scary

Clemson did, cant imagine why its not worth a minicamp/training camp tryout

Top 4 picks:

CB - Need

RB - Pass catching (wr ability and running)

LB - Milano clone -

WR - speed and talent

1st 4 picks - 2 Defensive and 2 offensive

Then you had the 6+7th round - these are projects essentially

1 ST - Punter

2 Defensive players (LB and CB) double dip for depth/ST

1 Offensive Player - Tackle that probably projects more inside with hi movement scores.

A near split of Offense/Defense with the offense hitting O-Line, WR, and RB.  Seems like most of the bases were covered - especially as both RB and WR have some position flexibility.

TE3 and TE2 next year is probably one of our biggest openings on the team, gives a bit more pull trying to bring in UDFA there.

It's always nice to have royalty on the team.

Duke Williams replacement.

5 of 7 McBeane first round picks have been defense(technically 6 since they traded for Diggs)…. And the asset allocation of $$$ is heavily tilted towards defense.

If your response to that original post is “huh” you are either are playing dumb as some sort of strange reason to excuse them for it or not paying attention…

And yet the offense has been great the past 2 seasons.

I would’ve liked a legit outside WR with some speed and size, but with the way this draft went, we would’ve had to take one at 25.  Absolutely insane runs on WR’s.

Luckily, similar to the year we got Davis in the 4th, this was a loaded WR class that allowed us to take a really talented WR in Shakir twenty spots after we took Davis.

Cook is an absolute home run pick.  He can be an absolute monster in this Offense.

Our starting five on the OL is likely set.  They signed Quessenberry as swing tackle insurance if Doyle doesn’t make the jump and, for whatever reason, Kromer must see something in Ford.

One of these days, we’ll give Allen a blue chip draft pick on Offense (hopefully), but Cook & Shakir is a really nice pair of weapons.

Yes 1st round picks have been slanted to defense, but they have continued to acquire assets for the offense - Trades for Diggs - FAs like Brown, Sanders, Beasley, Crowder, McKenzie at wr alone.  Draft picks and FA for RB and TE - Knox, Sweeney, Moss, Singletary, and now Cook all drafted for Josh.  O-Line - picks and FA - more from the FA side, but you have 2 draft picks at each tackle, center and guard as FA, and a trade to get Bates as a UDFA.

They have put a ton of resources into the Entire team - you may not agree with the moves, but they have continued to upgrade and provide weapons as he has developed.

The Bills have typically just about split between offense and defense under this regime with yes some higher picks slanted to defense, but they have not ignored either side - hence being the only NFL team with Top 5 offense and Defense last year.

And yet the offense has been great the past 2 seasons.

The defense was great last season.

The offense declined from their great 2020 season..........they lost 3 games in 5 weeks scoring a feeble 9, 15 and 10 points.........and they allowed a horrific 125 combined sacks and pressures and finished last in YAC yardage.     Those struggles put them on the road in the playoffs where they were 0-3 under McDermott.

But they again spent their top assets on defense.........big FA money on a new pass rusher and their top pick on a CB.

Like I do every year I will keep all the reported signings below. However they tend to come fast and Furious. So if you see one not listed here feel free to say it and tag me with link. Will update the main post.

as we are in the rounds players are sitting there thinking might be better to go UDFA at this point I figured I would start the thread to be ready to start updating it.

I know in past I loved UDFA looking for players to still contribute right away. Bills are no longer at that point but get me players with at least ONE elite trait

RB Raheem Blackshear

TE Jalen Wydermyer - there is a chance to make the team here

CB Travon Fuller

DT Prince Emili

WR Malik Williams

WR Neil Pau’u

IOL Alex Anderson

75 on Contract (with draft picks)

7 UDFAs reportedly signed

82 on roster (8 open spots)

Add Syracuse DE Kingsley Jonathan

They've spent A LOT more money/cap space in unrestricted free agency on defense in AND used most of their #1 picks on defense.

It's not very close to split evenly.

No one can help you if you think the defense was great last year. I understand you may want more weapons on offense, but you can't preface that by thinking the defense was great and didn't need to be addressed.

And they gave up 42 in their biggest game of the year when Allen should have  had it won twice already…

The D also gave up 41,36 and 33 points during losses throughout the regular season which put them on the road in the playoffs,,,
