Special Teams Pick

PRO'S:

Hot motor, high effort linebacker & reliable contributor in four seasons at Clemson

Team-orientated; puts a premium on taking care of his own responsibilities

Plays within his capabilities, rarely exposing himself and giving up big plays

Quick processor who reads the landscape and clicks into gear efficiently

Savvy mover, able to stay clean whilst flowing behind the line of scrimmage

Comfortable in pass coverage; able to hold a zone, anticipate traffic and undercut routes

Embraces special teams duties

Cons

Modest physical profile – needs more lower body strength

Lack of length impedes ability to avoid downblocks

Easily manipulated out of his run fit, and isn’t able to affect lane choice

Sure tackler, but not a powerful one. Doesn’t explode into contact

Benford I had a knee-jerk reaction over but reading the reports I can see why they went with him. Tanuta (other than his size) and Spector I have no idea. A couple of very odd choices to see out our draft; it feels like there were better options available. But, hey, it's low sixth and seventh.

Bye bye 49....enjoy FA

I don't think that's necessarily what it says at all, but the possibility is there. Just not this season.

He may go bye but this kid isn't going to replace him.   He's another weak side chase down LB, with not much twitch.  ST only, maybe Matakevich replacement.

Really surprised they did not get an IOL.

1 really late OT pick.

Quessenberry can run block at RT.

Ford had a vote of confidence by Beane last night. Foolish IMO

Mancz has been a good UDFA story as a backup C but is hanging on

Boettger is coming off of an Achilles and will probably not be able to play this year

Quessenberry has played Guard in his career and can swing inside if need be. Greg Mancz can play both Center and Guard and started 4 games last season. There's been advances in Achilles rehabilitation in the last couple years that we've seen pay dividends in recent history with Cam Akers returning in 5 months just last season. We've brought in a much better O-Line coach than Cody Ford has ever had in Aaron Kromer. With the investment they paid in Ford, they'll likely like to see if Kromer can get more out of him. We're likely only going to keep 4 Guards and our Starting Guards are set for this season with the investments we put into Saffold and Bates.

Of course it's not for this year. They're just getting a jump on looking at some LB traits with Bernard & Spector. Next years draft is where they'll replace Tremaine somewhere in the first 2 rounds.

Hot motor has a stuck thermostat. That's not a good thing.

Yeah, there's some puzzling picks for the Bills. TC will have to give some answers as to where some of these guys are being projected, will Tenute get reps at G, or Benford at S, or Bernard at S, or Araiza at S...

Think I'm at:

Love Araiza and Shakir

Like Elam and Cook (trading up and losing the fourth for Elam and slightly reaching for Cook takes me away from love. Still should add a lot to the team)

OK with Bernard and Benford (Bernard was a reach in the third but balanced out by the Shakir pick; there were perceived better options on the board than Benford but he has a big upside)

Disappointed with Tenuta and Spector (picks with a greater upside seemed available)

Of course, reality could change all of this!

Hell yeah!  No more Bojorker!  No more Hack!

Punt God is no sure thing.  Very strong leg, but lacking in hang time and nuanced punts.  Hope he can learn to do those because his leg can be a weapon.
