ABC didn't say a single word about either Bills pick this evening.  If there was some pre-draft hype about a player, they'll talk about him.  Otherwise they're too busy having guest stars banter with the host and commentators.

The only thing I can think of is Bernard and Cross were looked at for the same position. More for a big nickel TE stopper than a traditional LB or Safety. Might have just preferred Bernard over Cross and others.

Brandt was incredible but this was a truly puzzling pick. LB only makes sense if it's an Edmunds replacement. This is a Milano backup

Is he the 3rd LB if Bills play more 3 LB sets? Seems like he could put on some extra muscle... probably can cover TEs pretty well.

Baylor’s coach Dave Aranda is a close buddy of McD.

 

I think this is a poor pick being the third round is early for him. they must have been worried he would go prior to our fifth round pick.

 

However, last pick McDermott got Aranda’s incite on was Tre White as he had been Tre’s DC at LSU. So let’s hope they know a lot more than we do!

Tre was a consensus 1st rounder.  This guy is an undersized LB that will be lucky to replace Matakevich.
