Probably not but I get it. Maybe Elam was one of the few 1st round grades they had left and just didn't want to risk it. I'm not going to miss that 4th round pick.

This kid looks to play really physical and isn’t afraid to make a tackle and is obviously pretty athletic. I can’t see any fault even giving up the 4th. 
It’s not like we can’t move back a little later and get an extra pick if we needed one

Let's not forget what happened against KC, getting absolutely toasted by Hill and Kelce.  

 

We had a HUGE need for speed, both at CB and playmakers.  2nd rounder will be a speed guy on offense.
