FilthyBeast Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Not a surprise but doesn't mean he won't end up being the starter all season for the Giants and possibly having better production under Daboll. They just aren't locked into paying him big money now. 4 1 Quote
BuffaloRebound Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 they can always franchise tag him if he explodes this year. Guaranteeing $20m+ now was never gonna happen. 4 2 Quote
Chandler#81 Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!🤣😂😅 Didn’t take Shoen & Dabol long.. 1 2 Quote
Greg S Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Tyrod Taylor time. Wouldn't surprise me if he becomes the starter at some point. 1 1 Quote
Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Good news for the Bills. This just means another team is drafting a qb and pushing talent down the draft board. 3 1 Quote

H2o Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 (edited) Not a surprise really. I think, a lot like things were done around here, Schoen and Daboll go after a QB in the 2nd draft. Next year will be WAYYYYY better to do so. And if somehow Jones turns out to be what they are looking for? They have the Franchise Tag option and then can negotiate. Can't blame them one bit for not gifting the guy $22M though. Edited April 28, 2022 by H2o 2 2 Quote
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Been reading about a number of 5th year option choices this week. When is the deadline? I thought I recalled in past years was around 3rd week of May?? Quote

Isn't this a weak class for QB's though? No guarantee they draft one this year. Tyrod Taylor can be a good "bridge" QB until they draft their next potential franchise QB. Quote
Apocalypse Nuts Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 But...but...are we finally ready to talk about Edmunds? I mean, come on! Why is no one talking about him? 😜 1 1 Quote
K D Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 I'm surprised, I thought Daboll interviewed on the premise that he could fix Danny and make him a Josh Allen type project? I wonder if they will add a QB in the draft then 1 Quote
davefan66 Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Not surprised. Daboll and the new regime want to make the team their way. Feel they have to draft a QB now as insurance if Jones completely implodes this season. Just don’t believe there is a true franchise guy out there. Will be interesting if they grab a guy and see what Daboll does with him. Quote
Warcodered Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 I think it was always pretty obvious that this year was a last shot for Danny Dimes while Schoen probably positions them to be able to take a QB in a better QB draft next year if he doesn't pan out. Quote

They reached and took a guy in the 1st round who probably should have been a 3rd rounder based on his talent. Hopefully the Giants panic and take a qb to develop during Jones' final year. Then teams like the Panthers, Falcons, Seahawks, Commanders, and Texans will over-draft qb's as well. Edited April 28, 2022 by Allen2Diggs 1 Quote
