Republicans and democrats share the blame in this mess. Both parties have done plenty over the decades to get us to where we are.

The swamp is made up of entrenched uniparty bureaucrats along with decades long elected representatives infesting DC.

I want them ALL out.

Ask the leftists around here if they will say the same.

As per my above post, I want more moderates.  We all say little gets done in congres and little got done in the past, but over the past 5-10 years, even less has been done unless it is rammed through by one party. There never was a LOT of compromise on bills/laws, but there was some. That is just about all gone now, and that is what we need.  Nothing is NOT better that SOMETHING even if it gives the 'other side' a victory.

Elizabeth Warren is not a moderate, and she gets a lot of air time. AOC is not a moderate.

Biden was/is a moderate, but he has been behind more 'leftist' policies as president than he was in congress becuase the extremes of his party are demanding it.  Agree or not with those specific points, the Dems are overall more left than they have been, and the Republicans are more to the right. At this point and time where the inflation issue can be address/partially solved by congress, this is a problem.

Congress working togther on Wages/Food/Shelter CAN help inflation more than the fed at this point. Plus the things they can do might actually HELP the overall economy, not hurt it like constant rate hikes. But again, we are too worried about giving 'the other side' a 'win' so we agree to no comprimise.

And by the way, dont' come back and me and say that 'your side' is moderate and the 'other side' is out of control extreme.  Almost EVERYONE thinks 'their side' is less extreme than the other side. We need to take a step back and look at the big picture and allow/encourage our lawmakers to give away something we don't want in exchange for something we do want, and stop keeping score to make sure 'our sides' definately wins more than the other side for sure.

Hilarious…the Dow is down 20% and now the Biden clan tell everyone to simply look the other way. Is this the latest transient blip? Even NBC is reluctantly saying we’re on the verge of recession. No….really? And what does the President say? “We’re heading into slight recession.” Is that like a small incursion?

it’s kind of like being a little bit pregnant.

who got rich under Trump?  You kidding me?  Who got the tax cuts?  Not the middle class. Check yourself.

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 (TCJA), passed by President Trump and congressional Republicans, was the biggest reform of the U.S. tax code since 1986. The TCJA lowered income tax rates, especially for higher-income Americans, and it lowered the corporate tax rate from 35% to 21%. Some tax credits and deductions also changed. The standard deduction was nearly doubled (from $6,350 in 2017 to $12,000 in 2018) and the child tax credit was doubled (from $1,000 in 2017 to $2,000 in 2018), but some itemized deductions were limited or eliminated.

IRS data on the 2018 tax season released in May 2019 shows that savings for taxpayers were uneven. For example, the average refund was $90 higher, nationally, in 2018 than 2017. But the taxpayers who saw the largest refund increases had an adjusted gross income (AGI) of at least $200,000. Tax returns showing an AGI of less than $100,000 paid less income tax overall, but returns with an AGI just above $100,000 (many middle-class families) owed more tax, on average. Note that this AGI is per tax return, not per taxpayer: A married couple where each spouse has a salary of $65,000 could very well have an AGI of just above $100,000 if they file jointly.

On the whole, low-income families appear to have received the least savings, while high-income families saved the most. Middle-class families saw mixed results. The biggest winners from Trump’s tax cuts were probably businesses. Between 2017 and 2018, corporations paid 22.4% less income tax. The total value of refunds issued by the IRS to businesses also increased by 33.8% nationally.

this is what’s wrong with Trumpers.  I get some criticism of Biden is legit. But you guys have a pretty weird sense of reality about what happened before him.   Like claiming somehow the poor did better or that federal spending was somehow less under Trump.

This is a ridiculous take on the role your government plays in your life.

"Get rich?"  Or "get poor?"

Create policies and an environment conducive for economic growth.  Full stop.  The rest is on us.

NEVER EVER IN THE HISTORY OF HUMANITY has a group of rulers done more damage economically, socially, and politically them the Democrats did with Covid and then every single thing post March 2020 and Trump.

They single handedly purposefully (because government dependence is good for socialism) created an environment that is causing Americans (and most of the former free world) to suffer economic pain.  I may not have been richer under Trump, and under Biden I'm actually making more money - but I am 1000% struggling to pay bills and buy food and gas in ways I never have before.  It's worse then post 2008.

And it was all avoidable.

They have ZERO business being in charge of jack ***t.

Oh, so you are saying the mere existence of "non-moderates" cancels out the fact that the leadership and most members of Dems are moderate?

And the GOP under Trump and most of the rank and file are far gone wackos looking to kill out voting system. Marjerie Taylor Greene (Putin just wants to be our friend) is campaigning all over the country for GOP candidates. Is AOC? And AOC is no where near as bad at all to the GOP crazies who care about nothing but power

You are laughing and happy stock market is down?

And ya, recessions happen. Putin is heavily responsible for this. But Biden? No. Sure the President always gets blamed, but that's not rational

I’m laughing (and so is everyone else) at how hard they all tried to spin it that there wasn’t a looming recession. My memory goes back more than a month Tibs! And of course while the US President isn’t solely responsible, this particular administration is in a state of daily denial. It’s impossible to turn the ship around when you’re steering with blinders on. (Putin? Give me a break!)

No, I'm not saying that. I am saying that, in my opinion, both sides are more extreme than they have been in most of my previous adult life.  Has one side gone to the extreme more than the other? maybe, probabaly. But that still doesn't change my opinion that the lack of moderates on both sides are part of the reason we cannot have needed compromise bills/laws.....some that might take the pressure of the rest of the economy and the fed to keep raising rates.

Totally do not agree with that at all. The GOP has gone nuts

Pay no mind to the historic inflation data!!

Imagine if it was BLM that broke into the capital.  You would be foaming at the mouth for justice.  Stop with this nonsense.  Should they schedule hearings around your fragile little reality?

They burned city blocks and they actually did attack the WH - Trump had to go into a bunker and the NY Times made jokes about it - as did every lib in America

We have the receipts!

Literally everyone is aware Ned! The comments are on the media and Biden administration trying to convince everyone that it isn’t.
