Just Jack Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Former Bills DE Alex Carrington accused of DWI, criminal possession of a weapon (wkbw.com) Quote The Niagara County Sheriff's Office said around 1:30 a.m. Monday deputies initiated a traffic stop at 263 South Transit Road in Lockport for speed in zone and no headlight. According to the sheriff's office while interviewing the driver of the vehicle, former Buffalo Bills defensive end Alex Carrington, deputies noted signs of potential intoxication. Carrington allegedly refused all requests to exit the vehicle, was non-compliant and a gun magazine was allegedly observed in plain view in the pocket of the driver's side door. Quote

FilthyBeast Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Honestly surprised he still lives in the area since he's been out of the league for so long. But another disappointing player on a very long list that came through here during the drought years. Quote

I have heard repeatedly from agents and the media that NFL arrest records are, adjusted for age/sex, not meaningfully different than similar national averages. Not sure if I believe it. Quote

hondo in seattle Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 I only have the dimmest memory of him. So I looked him up: 4 total sacks with the Bills in 5 seasons. No wonder he's mostly forgotten. Quote

Not sure if I believe it. If you sort it by year there has been an systematic decrease in the number of arrests from 61 in 2013 to 18 last year (although based on YTD it will be higher this year). All in all, 18 arrests out of over 2000 males in the age group between 20 and 35 is not very large and the NFL is to be congratulated in getting the numbers down. Not sure if I believe it. NFL player arrests (at least among active players) seem to be right around the expected number—maybe even a tad lower than expected—compared to arrest data for entire country as indicated here: https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2019/crime-in-the-u.s.-2019/topic-pages/persons-arrested#:~:text=The estimated arrest rate for,3%2C011.0 arrests per 100%2C000 inhabitants. Not sure I'm ready to say there is a criminality issue in the NFL... unless we're talking about Josh Allen not getting a chance in overtime. Edited April 4, 2022 by MPL 1 2 3 Quote
