Pete Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 According to draft chart: 25 = 720 points 43 = 470 58 = 330 74 = 220 we would gain 200 on draft chart. espeneza, ford, and moss for 3rd round pick badically they day if you get decent two starters, it’s a successful draft Atlanta would have 2 first rounders, and new, young starting DE, G, RB we would clear cap space, and draft superior replacements 1 Quote

Sure, 4th rounders tend to be should performers. Honestly, an extra 4th round WR selection could easily push Marquez Stevenson or Isaiah Hodgins off the roster. Which would improve the roster. Could? Sure. Could a first or second round receiver/CB make immediate contributions? I trust Beane's band of merry men to pick the correct player in round 1 or 2 more than I trust them in later rounds. Get me 4-5 guys in this draft to fill in. I don’t need 9-10 picks with this roster. Get me some talent to grow with. I wouldn’t mind a small trade down and then trade up…. Get a CB, OG and WR…..before 89….. Unless we can get a good guard at 89? 5 hours ago, Pete said: According to draft chart: 25 = 720 points 43 = 470 58 = 330 74 = 220 we would gain 200 on draft chart. espeneza, ford, and moss for 3rd round pick badically they day if you get decent two starters, it’s a successful draft Atlanta would have 2 first rounders, and new, young starting DE, G, RB we would clear cap space, and draft superior replacements I think we need three good players out of this draft, a OG, WR and CB…. Then we need help at CB,LB and P….. Quote
djp14150 Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 (edited) There are many combinations of trade downs. generally pure pick trades don’t happen before the draft. teams either making a deal to fill a position on their roster which can involve also pick swaps for slots they couldn’t fill in free agency. the only trades of note befire draft began have been with teams targeting a QB 1. jets colts trade opin 2018 2. Buffalo traded up with cincinati where Buffalo send them their OT ibefire 2018 draft. 3. SF trade up with Miami last year to target a QB. Edited April 4, 2022 by djp14150 Quote
BullBuchanan Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Historically, #25 seems to net some solid returns: Aiyuk, Marquise Brown, Hurst, Shaq Thompson, jason verett. More good than bad recently Quote

Falcons get: #25 (720) #89 (145) Zack Moss —————- Total (865) Bills get: #43 (470) #74 (220) #82 (180) —————- Toal (870) With this trade, the Bills would have 43, 57, 74, and 82 to address CB, WR, OL, and RB if they wanted to...What do you think? Do you like this scenario, given the circumstance? Edit: Feel free to remove Zack Moss if you want...I just threw him in because we would likely be upgrading from him...👍 Atlanta will give us another draft pick if we leave Moss out of the deal. 1 2 Quote

The value has to be there or you whole premise is faulty from the jump. I have just checked rosters from last league year for the entire AFC and 1 of the 4 divisions in the NFC so far, and I have only found 14 number 1 picks. So I'm not at all sure that I'll even find the 27 first round picks which represent the top 32 corners. And of those 14, there are at least 2 or 3 that are so-so journeymen like Eli Apple who is on his fourth team and now possibly his fifth. You are right. 1st round picks are NOT slam dunks to be good NFL players. Thus trading a 1st round pick for Stefon Diggs was a good value proposition. 2 Quote
