You’re forgetting about that playoff game/super bowl in which his defense slowed down the greatest show on snow and stole a Lombardi from us.  Oh yeah…he wasn’t the head coach.

how many Super Bowls has Parcells won without Belichick?

the notion he’s only good because of Brady is one of the worst takes in sports.

If you don’t think he’s the best ever, I get it…..but he’s one of the best football minds ever. There is no doubt

Not forgetting anything. Like his performance with the Browns and now post Brady in guessing he's scratching .500.

He has had a few years where he hit the cream of the crop coming to him because they were great but that wasn't because of him.

Similar how players want to play with allen now and not because they have high praise for McD.

No more Gilmore

please.

he was overrated and IIRC said some bad 💩 when he left.

His ego was also overinflated

He was an Un Happy Gilmore

He wasn't happy on the Whaley-Rex Bills.

This is an entirely different organization.

Tough to win with a washed up Bernie, Mike Tomzack, Vinny T, washed up Mark Rypien.

He was able to go 11-5 with Vinny throwing 16 TDs and 18 Ints.

Marv levy was garbage until he had JK.  There are several instances of coaches sucking with sucky QBs and stacking win with a good QB.  Most coaches do suck when they have crappy QBs.

You kinda made the point for me there.

You can be a great defensive minded coach but if you don't have the offense to back it up it doesn't matter most of the time.

I don't doubt he is a great defensive minded coach. But he did wasnt the reason he has the record he has.

Who cares he left, we were not a good team then. No one should be expected to play for a team going nowhere.

I'd welcome him back, he wasn't as good as people made out but he would still be a great veteran for the right price.

The only way he’s coming to Buffalo is if Bean gives him more $$$$ then any other team

that’s it , it’s all about money for him

Yes it’s called being under contract and anybody that doesn’t want to play with the team drafted them can go ***** themselves

while true,

it still doesn’t excuse giving up on plays and other traits that  followed him beyond Buffalo

the trading of Gilmore to the Carolina Panthers is a cost-cutting move that hurts the Patriots on the field. At worst, it’s gross mismanagement of a disgruntled asset. The truth probably is somewhere in the middle.

But that rabbit hole is for a different story.

Quote

The significant meat on that bone — Gilmore’s age and injury concerns; the reported contract dispute; Belichick’s mounting general manager misfires — must be hit from multiple angles.

That already has generated debate over Gilmore’s true feelings about the Patriots. Why wouldn’t he just play for the same money for the Patriots, rather than the Panthers?

Quote

Does Gilmore, in fact, hate New England so muchthat he’s willing to make the same money for one franchise that he was unwilling to accept from the Patriots? (This theory operates under the assumption that Rapoport’s initial reporting was inaccurate, and that Gilmore actually wouldn’t play without a raise.)

If that's the case it's a hard pass, I know he was all about the money, but usually players see the big picture when decline in skills start happening.

That's just emotional, he wasn't under contract. He finished the contract and left in free agency.

That's like saying you're an engineer for a company that is failing and your offered a job at a successful company for more pay and you're not supposed to take it because of "loyalty".

Just doesn't work that way.

I made your point if you completely overlooked the fact that he went 11-5 with Vinny throwing 16 TDs and 18 ints.

Gilmore, Haden or Xavier Rhodes?  Which one

I’ll take gilmore but he’s also going to cost the most imo. He might double what the other guys make.  Might triple one of them.

You must be mistaken, Scott. I’ve never been wrong in my life. Not once.

Since Scott also has never been wrong and you do not agree with him this means the laws of the universe are being bent.

The two of you will need to have a "spoon competition".

Whomever can bend the spoon furthest is the winner.

He does have the advantage being stunt double for Blue Raja.

It’ll be worth it if they can fit him in.

I just can’t see us fitting him at what his market value will be.  I don’t see it happening myself.

At 31 years old… I think he would want a longer term deal and has the resume to get it.

Give it to him. I think if the Bills decided Edmunds isn’t getting a contract then there is room for another 10+ million a year deal. Poyer is another player they have to make a decision on. If they go young at those positions next year that opens the door to spend elsewhere on defense. Obviously the Oliver contract coming in 2 years but they have future room for another large contract.
