Inigo Montoya Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 (edited) "For those Miami fans revved up and thinking the Fins will be going toe-to-toe with the Bills for AFC East supremacy this year, I bring you this factoid: Buffalo and Miami met three times in calendar year 2021 (including the final game of the 2020 season on Jan. 3, 2021). The Bills won by 30, 35 and 15 points, an average of 26.7 points per game. Maybe Tyreek Hill can add four touchdowns a game against the Bills." https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/03/28/nfl-overtime-rule-tyreek-hill-trade-fmia-peter-king/?utm_int=Edge1248 Touche' Edited March 28, 2022 by Inigo Montoya 9 1 19 9 2 Quote
BigDingus Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 I mean, I can understand being excited about getting Hill, but yeah... 4 TD difference isn't going to happen. Then again, I have no idea what they've done on defense this offseason, really haven't paid attention to them. Brian Flores also had a knack for getting his team to play hard even when losses were piling up. Don't see them being able to hold it together as well if they start going on big losing streaks. 1 1 Quote
H2o Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 I think McDaniel is going to be more along the lines with the offense that you see in San Fran. Everything was predicated off of the running game. If the Dolphins can't run the ball against our front then it will all still fall on Tua. The guy cannot go toe-to-toe with JA. 1 Quote
Max Fischer Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 I do not believe in Tua, who could drag the team down. However, we should not ignore Miami's somewhat significant improvements and gap has closed. Bills will still be favorites but losing to the Dolphins is not inconceivable. 2 2 Quote

And we already prepare to play against one of them twice a year in the Jets. Now we have 4 games against them, should build some familiarity with McD in preparing to face them Quote

Losing to anyone in the NFL is not inconceivable on any given Sunday. Look what happened against Jacksonville last year. Ugh!! But Miami will have their hands full against us as long as we have Josh Allen as our QB. Tua has a lot to prove to be considered even a competent starting QB in the NFL, let alone being the next Dan Marino. LOL 1 Quote
BuffaloBill Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 This move by Miami reminds me of the Bills two decades of suck when picking up a splash free agent would case “the turnaround.” The NFL is a QB driven league and until and unless Tua proves he has the “stuff” this is just a window dressing move to hype up the fan base. Nextmanup Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Yawn. I just can't get worked up over Miami anymore. They've been so irrelevant for so long, who cares? They just don't matter. 1 Quote
78thealltimegreat Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 The teams who are effective against the 49ers style offense the Fins are implementing have defensive tackles who get into the backfield to blow up the blocking schemes….Ed Oliver will gain his contract extension from these two games alone 3 1 Quote

That is why actually the right response is a bear front because then they don't have enough guys to block everyone on the line if they want to double the tackles. 2 Quote
Clyde Smith Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 I honestly think Bridgewater will beat out Tua. McDaniels doesn't have ties to either QBs, so Tua is not safe. Quote

The scuttlebutt in Miami is that taking that job meant turning around Tua. There's a reason they took so long to hire someone and ended up with a 1 year coordinator lottery ticket as their HC. Now I believe strongly in Tua's ability to make Bridgewater the starter, but it's not an open competition 2 Quote
SF Bills Fan Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 I think it is like us getting Watkins when we had Taylor at QB. It's kind of a waste of talent with Tua there. But, the Chiefs are weaker, at least this year, so it is good for us. Quote
Bill Lewes Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Teddy's better than Tua. But adding Armstead, Hill, etc. makes them more competitive not scary. Quote

Miami paid way too much to KC, paid way too much to Hill, and Tua isn't a downfield passer that can make use of Hill's speed. It is thought that even with o-line additions, it is still a below average unit. Quote

Not really the same though in the sense that Hill is at least a proving top 3 receiver talent over a sustained period. Watkins just ended up being a bust. I think his best statistical season ever was still with Tyord throwing him the ball? Quote

Trading up to get a WR in that draft was a perfect example of their incompetence in the FO at that time. They were so bad at drafting offense in those years. 1 Quote
buffalo2218 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 (edited) It's like King pointed out, they'll be trotting out the same defense Josh has shredded for the majority of his career up to this point. They may score a bit more, but even that's not a guarantee. They have improved but Hill isn't gonna make Tua in to Josh Allen. Yes, getting Diggs did help Josh, but alot of Josh's success came from his work ethic and coaching. From this point on, Allen getting better from where he is now is pretty much the rest of the division's nightmare. The Jets have given Josh more trouble defensively compared to Miami Edited March 28, 2022 by buffalo2218 Quote

Winning against the New York Jets is like a sigh of relief bc they suck and I don’t want to see the Bills give up an easy one. Against the cheats, I feel more pumped up- like I could celebrate by running through a wall. But a win against Miami is joyful. I love beating that team cause it just feels good. I’m most pleased and giddy after squishing the fish. Edited March 29, 2022 by GETTOTHE50 3 2 1 Quote
