DCofNC Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 I wonder if they will package Edmunds and a pick to move up. If they can get one of the Georgia LBs for example, lower the cap hit and solve the problem for the next 4-5 years at a lower cost. 3 Quote

billybrew1 Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 How many roster spots do we have open? It depends on Bates signing or Ford’s making the team, Doyle too… If Bates stays I think we end up with two new OL unless they really like Doyle. So, I think two there. LOL, no more on O unless a RB beats out Johnson but I doubt it. As many as three new CBs could make the roster. Tre will start out injured reserve. We usually carried three outside guys but that was shallow, imho… if we drafted three guys that could play outside well, I’d consider going one short at Nickleback and S. Having said that they probably add two new guys. We need a fast outside WR. So one WR. A punter… I don’t know how we’ll handle kicks this year but I doubt we carry a specialist. Maybe one of the new CBs returns punts? I guess Crowell can return too. I don’t want Hyde returning though…. We could draft a LB to challenge for second string and if he’s good enough, maybe Edmunds replacement next season? Although we’d probably need a high pick to get a better LB than Edmunds…. I know people don’t want to hear stuff like this but part of me is concerned it is just our defense that makes Tremaine play weird…. I hope that is not the case. If it is, it doesn’t matter who we draft…LOL…. Anyway, that’s two OL, two CBs, WR, P, LB…. Seven picks…. We can fill out the roster for camp with UDFAs. Go Bills! PS - I’m already dying to see this new team. If the DL and secondary are a lot better we win, imho… I think the O is going to be better because we will have a better OL… I think I could use all 8 picks: CB, WR, OL, CB, OL, LB, P, CB…. It’s possible all 3 CBs make it… 1 1 Quote

I expect at least a couple of the later picks to be used to move up in the 2nd or 3rd rounds, or to turn the 4th into a 3rd. I'm counting on at least one late round pick being used on a punter, but probably not Araiza...I don't think we'll be punting often enough to justify more than a 6th rounder on this position and it will have to be someone who can hold for FGs, which Araiza has never done. Expand 100% agree, my hope is we package some picks to move back into the 3rd. my ultimate hope is the QB love continues to rise. Allowing a CB to fall back to 25. Quote

Niagara Bill Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Good teams historically picked best player available as they had a great roster. Today great teams pick to fill a spot for immediate impact. I think the causes are 1) huge portion of cap spent on a few players, 2) a great team must have strong impact from rookie salary cap to be great. So the Bills must pick to fill biggest weakness at draft time. Depending on FA pick up it will be cb or oline. No other option. All other picks would be wasting on the field playing time next year...a Superbowl year. The future does not matter...they are playing for the ultimate NOW. Quote
