Time will tell with our next few FA signings whether it is a RB such as Fournette or Gordon, WR such as Julio Jones or CB such as Peterson, Haden or Rhodez ( all just examples) of what direction we might go in the draft.  Nothing is etched in stone but though I prefer Hall … it seems we will go CB

None of those things are happening. Brandon Beane basically said he's done in Free Agency and that he's basically going to make low cost deals for people looking for opportunity over money as they really don't have any, after the Draft.

Breece Hall won’t make it to pick 57… other options at pick 57 might be Kenneth Walker or Isaiah Spiller… but I would rather go Breece Hall at 25 assuming he is still there than roll the dice at him being there at pick 57.  I do agree we need to address the Cornerback position also.

My guess and gut feeling is the Bills would have taken Etienne if the Jags didn't jump up and grab him last year.  I think Beane and McD see a game changing RB weapon if it is a special player is worth it.

I would say Kenneth Walker is more in the mold of Etienne.  But Breece Hall can run between the tackles and get you the hard yards along with great outside speed .  He could be special in this offense and make it so potent.

I'd be happy with Penny, McKinnon, or Patterson.

I also would be happy with them.  I think in this order....

Penny

Patterson

McKinnon

I think Hall is best though.

Penny might come at the right price.  My only question on Penny (besides injury) is does he need the lion's share of the carries to be successful?

Interesting..... I would love a great RB weapon for Josh to take the offense to an unstoppable level.

McKinnon, possibly. Penny, probably not. Patterson, DEFINITELY not. They were never going to allocate much more than a few million for a limited role behind Singletary at the RB position. And now after all we've spent and listening to Beane's presser, sounds like even a McKissic like contract is out.

My guess is it's a Day 3 pick at this point with a guy who has some speed a receiving ability.

Based on what Beane was saying, guys who can come here, get touches, rebuild value, and re-enter the market a few guys make sense.

Marlon Mack got hurt and lost his job to JT28. But he has some pretty explosive play in the past and is a former 1,000 yard rusher. It is certainly low risk, high reward.

Ronald Jones II has had some awesome games for Tampa, but his production took a dive once they added Fournette and Gio Bernard.

Then you have guys like David Johnson and Tarik Cohen who have fallen off a cliff, but were once super productive. It makes sense for them to enter a place where they can play with an elite qb for 1 year.

I still think Jerick McKinnon fits like a glove with Singletary and Josh Allen and has a chance to be extremely productive here.

I  think Beane waits.  He'll get a great value RB who has been (in their mind) disrespected.   Kind of like the last RB standing.  Lots of RBs left.

Fournette, Penny, Michel, Patterson, Gordon, and if K Hunt is released, are the pool I hope the FO is waiting on.  As some start coming off the board the others get nervous playing for a winner will look more attractive.

Trade down and a CB in FA or it doesn't happen. Unless he somehow falls to the 3rd round and that won't happen either.

I can't fathom a RB in 1st or 2nd round with CB as glaring a hole as it is. I could see CB in 1st and 2nd like last year's DE.

CB and WR will be our 2 1st picks.  BPA in each area.

That makes sense, though I'd prefer they offer the Mckissic money to C Patterson. He's would fill the 3rd down back and all return duties. 2 holes with 1 bird.

Hasn't the McKissic $ been consumed by the tsunami of the last couple days?

So since McKissic went back to DC. And then Fournette starting to be linked in rumors I started thinking and looking at history.

So Bills have made it seem a habit that they will get players they targeted at trade deadlines.

Diggs - acquired next offseason Trade

Sanders - Signed UFA

Miller - Signed UFA

lesser Saffold - tried to sign him one UFA period.

so I was looking around. There are reports of the Bills tried to Trade for Melvin Gordon in past. Tried to sign him in the past.

could that be the RB and not Fournette (as all the rumors have been wrong on player but right on position).

$$.

McCreary, McDuffie, Elam, Booth or another WR will fill a hole… and will be good long term. But Breece Hall would make an immediate impact and give us something we don’t have… a big, strong and fast RB that defenses would have to respect.

What if we draft another HB in round 3?

Fournette is ideal but seems a pipe dream to me.

McKinnon would be a great get.

Zeppelin!  Are you a drummer? Bonzo was great….Neil Peart and Ginger Baker were awesome too

Duke Johnson is perfect for that. Gio Bernard.

Why does it seem like Gio Bernard is 102 years old? I am going to now look up his actual age.

Ok, he will be 31 mid season next year. He has had solid production as a receiving back. Last year with Tampa was his worst season as a pro and lowest yards per reception.

Yea, maybe it’s his first name being something I don’t hear often, but it seemed like he was a few years older than that.
Definitely would be nice to find someone with his type of production a couple of rounds later in the draft. From the stats Gio’s best season was his rookie year in regards to receiving. He was a second round pick, not something I want the Bills to spend on a RB this draft. I would like Beane and the scouts to find a guy from a smaller school who could give that production. To me, running backs is one of the few positions you can take from a small school and get immediate impact. If a player can run it shows, if a player will hit the hole and go, it shows.
