If I have a nit to pick with this, it's only that I think it is always worth it to bring a true developmental QB in, even when you have an established star.  Those guys can grow into trade ammo in a couple of years.  They're obviously not getting that from Barkley.

Still, it's obvious that Barkley was well-liked in the locker room and I'm not going to get upset over a move that continues to keep Josh comfortable.  Signing Barkley will have no negative impact whatsoever on the football field.

well, you don't make roster decisions to bring some buddies back.  Josh is well  past the point where he needs some bros to hang out with to buck up his confidence.  This isn't Entourage.

Keenum can impart more veteran knowledge to JA in a week than Barkley ever could.

wrong about what?  It's my opinion that be doesn't bring much.  They signed him.

He's not the first dud signing they have made in 4 years.

You said he only brings friendship.  What else have you admitted that he brings to the table?  If it’s nothing, than your saying that he’s only bringing him in to be his friend and has no value…..yet Beane obviously disagrees with your asesment.  Most of us will take his word for it over yours.

Meh. I'm fine with Barkley as the #3 given that the rules now allow you to stick an old journeyman on the PS. Hope he is on vet minimum. I still hope they bring day 3 pick or an UDFA in too. I think they only keep two on the active roster and I'd like to have a young developmental guy in the system somewhere. You should always be trying to find a hidden gem that can develop into a credible backup.

I just hope he doesn't do that disturbing thing with his jaw during the 12 Days of Christmas video.

You don't know why they settled on this guy (who was not very valuable to them a few seasons ago, right?), other than the obvious--maybe he's just appeasing  his golden goose.  Josh may have said hey can you bring in my boy Matt again?  I love that guy, and I don't know Case, who's gonna be eying me like Wylie Coyote looks at Roadrunner!

As opposed to "man, we really gotta get a veteran journeyman PS guy to help carry some of the load in the QB film room".

You guys have to understand that WEO doesn’t believe in abstract concepts such as creating a “culture”.     If he doesn’t believe that how in the hell do you expect him to understand that a player like Barkley would. E good for the QB room and that there ancillary benefits aside from what he can do on the football field.   Which for a 3rd string QB, he is above average.

You really know you’re complaining when you’re referring to the practice squad QB as a “dud signing”

Ay, dios mío.

Exactly.

No negative.  No positive other than what you just said there.

Again, Barkley was brought it for more than just being Josh’s friend….unless you think Beane is a team captain picking teams on the playground.  Because that what you’re insinuating.  So yeah…..wrong again.  L

The culture was just fine after they Bills had no use for Barkley last year.  Now the culture suddenly needs Barkley?

That's literally what he is.  GM.

Compared to who?  Barkley??  Come on..

Also, who has a higher career INT%:  Fitz or Jim Kelly?

Keenum is solid choice.  Really don't see why they would also bring in Barkley.  He adds nothing.

lol, he completed 15 passes.  It would be his last start in the NFL and it was 4 years ago.

He's no good.  really nopoint in bringing him in.

I wonder what numbers he and Keenum will wear? Nothing yet on the Bills official website and Stevenson already has #5. Marquez should pit them against one another and sell it to the highest bidder. 😂

Makes sense that you would associate the 2 as the same.  L

even you are acknowledging he is being brought in for some sort of locker room ambiance.  That's not different from what I am saying.  he's there for the bro-ing it up with Josh and the fellas.

Yes, I’m admitting that one of the reasons he’s being brought in is because of locker room ambience.  I’m not admitting that that is the ONLY reason.  Like you are.  Hence the L

I think he's there for "Renegade," when we play Pittsburgh.  He wasn't there last year and look what happened.

What exactly do you want from QB 3?
