Obviously he won’t be ready til November at the earliest. But how can you say no to a core of. Diggs, Davis, Odell, McKenzie and Knox? If we could him on a cheap 2yr deal I would entertain it. 
 

You can still go WR in the draft if need be.

Nothing about obj says cheap deal. Could see him waiting till he's healthy to entertain signings. Let all the contenders emerge and find a team like 4th best in conference willing to pay him, for the extra juice

Can’t have a high priced vet (or even a vet) at every position.

 

Need to let the scouts earn their keep and keep a steady flow of young talent.
 

It becomes even more important when you have success drafting because you can’t afford to pay them all a second contract.

Because Mayfield sucks and couldn't figure out how to get him integrated in their offense.  Stafford had no such issue.
