BuffaloBill Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Link to sportrac Current Bills salary cap situation - 3/22/2022 12:55 PM $4.1MM - available for “Top 51” - Estimate is that Bills are under by $1.6MM for all - Still missing #’s for Barkley, Crowder, Lawson, Lee, Phillips - Link to Sportrac in 1st post Looks like the Bills will sneak into camp under or at the “top 51” and then let camp competition and possible other restructurings take place to get down to the final #. For example, if Bates is resigned, they likely keep either Ford or Manchester but not both (will also probably draft a G and may carry him on p-squad). Beane is playing for real with what he is doing. Current Bills salary cap situation 3/20/2022 7:20 PM $4.6MM - Keenum contract rework - still missing #’s for Lawson, Lee, Phillips Current Bills salary cap situation - 3/20/2022 5:45 AM $2.1MM - Keenum bonus out - Still missing #’s for Lawson, Lee, Phillips - Link to Sportrac in 1st post My guess is that the Bills have to make about $8MM - $10MM in more room to sign final three FA’s currently on the roster, sign a “value” CB, sign draft choices and to make room for the inevitable in-season signing need(s) Bills cap as of 3/19/2022 5:30 PM - $2.5MM - Keenum In - Jones, Lawson, Lee, Phillips not in yet The Bills have some work to do as the other variable is leaving enough cap for draft choices and in-season signings Bills cap as of 3/19/2022 12:15 PM - $8.9MM - Miller in - Jones, Lawson, Lee, Phillips not in yet Bills cap as of 3/19/2022 - 7:00 AM $13.4MM Now includes Saffold’s #’s - still missing Jones, Lawson and Miller Bills Cap as of 3/18/2022 - 2:00 PM $16.9MM following release of Star and inclusion of Howard & Settle Still missing: Jones, Lawson, Miller and Saffold Bills Cap As of 3/17/2022 - 3:16 PM $17.5MM following release of Beasley Bills Cap As of 3/17/2022 - 10:45 AM (Allegedly $11.4MM available) Thought it might be helpful to have one thread where the Bills current cap status is tracked. According to Sportrac, the Bills have about $11.4 MM in space right now. However, their number does not include new contracts for Howard, Jones, Miller and Saffold. The Bills obviously have more work to do to be under the cap and leave themselves room for draft signings and in-season signings. 1 5 Quote
Royale with Cheese Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 When Beasley is either cut or traded….how much will this give us in cap space? 1 1 Quote
Draconator Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I'd rather have 15 threads on the same subject. Keeps my mind sharp 1 13 Quote
MAJBobby Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Going to be hard to know true space until Howard, Jones, Miller and Saffold contracts are accounted for (which they are not yet). Even with Milano recent restructure probably need one more 5M savings restructure or Cut to even fit those 4 outstanding contracts still. 1 Quote

Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 (edited) The other guy I'm surprised is still around is Tyler M, that's a $2.5 mil savings if cut. 3 minutes ago, BuffaloBill said: $7.6 MM which is probably the number the Bills will want to have going into the draft and season. That's a higher number than most years, thought it was usually just under $5 mil. Drafting late saves some money there too as usually only first three picks will count towards top 51 contracts. Mango Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I think Beasley and Star get us through the draft, season, and another depth signing or two. Quote

BillsMafi$ Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Can’t see this team not adding to the CB position in FA with a solid player with Tre coming off an injury and losing Wallace 2 Quote

Diggs extension should get that taken care of. Quote

Just based on some of the cap-wonks we have here, there have been estimates we might have pushed our 2023 cap number down to $15M. We have have Edmunds, Knox, Poyer, Singletary, Olivers 5th year. Logic Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 The Bills have a lot of work to do to fit the new deals under the cap — particularly if they want to keep adding. One or two cuts won’t do it. We’re going to see MULTIPLE re-structurings, conversions to signing bonuses, and extensions in the coming days. There is no money left in the banana stand. Beane will have to get creative, and fast, to fit Miller and co and remain cap compliant. Quote

Hoping for a high draft pick as well. We also need a backup QB. Edited March 17, 2022 by MJS Quote
billsfan89 Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 The Bills have plenty of space to make one or two more moves. I would strongly like them to look into the vet CB, Guard or WR markets. 1 Quote
