buffaloboyinATL Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I have not heard much about Jerry Hughes and whether he is going to retire or sign with another team. I was wondering if he would stick around to play with Von Miller, even if the contract was less than what he would usually accept. And of course, even if he would do it, what would the Bills be willing to pay him and is there room for him on this roster. If he does not come back, I hope he retires. I'd rather not see him in a different uniform. (Although I was thinking it would be funny if he went back to where we originally got him. The Colts definitely have a ton of cap space) Anyone hearing anything about Jerry's plans? 1 Quote

DCofNC Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 He and Miller really play the same spot, so he would have to accept that he’s a back-up and he paid like it. His numbers over the last few years pretty much tell that story. He’s still able to get pressure, but he rarely gets home anymore. It would be fun to see him at DE and Miller playing at LB on passing downs, just let them both go after the QB. I think his time here is probably done, he’s getting up in age we have 3 young guys, plus Miller now, doesn’t seem there would be room. 1 Quote
Lofton80 Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I hope he sticks around as a rotation guy. The salary cap makes it tough. Pretty sure Sal on WGR said Jerry and his wife both want to stay in Buffalo. 1 1 Quote

I agree, he would definitely be a part of the rotation, rather than our feature DE, but he may be interested in being on the field with Miller from time to time, and being part of this upcoming season. But I honestly have no idea where his mind is right now. 1 Quote

1ManRaid Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Either he sticks around for cheap to get a ring, or retires. I don't think there's much demand for a good-not-elite pass rusher of his age. 1 Quote
RochesterLifer Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I really hope he stays. My hope has nothing to do with (it's his income, not mine) any football realities. He has been a warrior for the Bills and suffered through some gruesome team times. I would like him to hold the Lombardi with the boys and Kim. Like Fred Jackson, he's a Bill for life. 6 1 3 Quote
Process Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Probably time to move on. If they bring Jerry back what are we going to do, continue to make one of our recent 2nd round picks inactive every week? Trade AJ? 1 1 Quote

Nuncha Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 (edited) Stick a fork in Hughes already. Time to move on. 18 tackles 2 sacks in 17 games in 2021. Edited March 17, 2022 by Azucho98 1 4 Quote
Thurman#1 Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Absolutely there's a chance. They won't want to give him more than about $3M. But it's very arguable that he's worth it. Could very easily happen. He's still playing pretty well, though not at his peak level. 1 Quote

No billboard, but maybe you can talk to my guy over at North Tonawanda Folding Table and Party Supply Warehouse for a custom table. Ask for Bill Buffulo. 1 Quote
ALLEN1QB Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Is he still on the team I have not heard his name called in years. Thought he had moved on or retired. 1 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I could see a cheap cheap contract just to ring chase but beyond that I think its time to move on. Give the young guys a shot opposite Miller Quote

nucci Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 he may not be offered a contract by the Bills Quote
Buffalo_Stampede Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I think Jerry ends up with Dallas. Quote
