if i missed it in the last 10 pages... in your opinion whos a back worth drafting this year and at what round? Devin on a contract year, could see him having a nice year behind our line, and leaving on a payday... have to add someone id think???

I think Hall and Walker are worthy of late first rd picks….but they are a value mid rd 2.

james cook would be my guy if he was there in rd 3.  Def a chance he’s gone before we pick rd 3, but could last til rd 4.  Dalvins brother, great receiver and change of pace back.  He’s smaller and will never be a bell cow.  Best case for him, imo, is a McKissic with home run ability.  Gio Bernard type.

isaiah spiller, imo, is a 3rd rd guy but might

go rd 2.  Lacks polished receiving skills. I don’t think he’s a fit with us.

rachad white would be great value in rd 4, but I think he goes rd 3.  One of the best receiving backs in the draft, maybe the best.  Lanky upright runner. Lacks power and has never really been asked to pass block.  That could prevent him from becoming a bill, but I think we’d be interested due to his hands.

kyren Williams could be a could fit if he’s there in rd 4, but he’ll probably go sooner.  His 40, I forgot what it was, was terrible.  He’s in the ekeler mode.  Good receiver and burst but fumbles and has no power.

I like Dameon Pierces toughness.

jerome Ford offers some receiving potential late in the draft.

Wanted to get a little more in depth but ran out of time, husband duties calling.

If there were no other significant needs on this team, I could get behind drafting a RB in the first or second, but that is not the case this year.

Singletary is fine as a main back, Duke Johnson is an attempt to fill the specialist role of 3rd down back.  While this team needs a corner who can star/play significant snaps early in the season in case Tre White isn’t ready.  Ideally, they would ink a vet to fill that role, but they look to be out of cap space.

They need another WR that can challenge McKenzie in the slot and in case Gabe Davis isn’t as good as he has looked so far.  There is no solution at WR on the roster beyond those 3.

OG is a long-standing problem and moves even higher in the needs list if they lose Bates as a FA.  Even with Bates returning, this is a big need area.  I’ve been a Cody Ford apologist, but even I am ready to admit that he is a long-shot to be an answer for this team.

I'd be fine taking a RB in this draft after we draft a CB and a RG. We do need better depth. I'm not at all enamored with anyone in our RB room after Singletary. We're in trouble if he goes down or we can't fix the right side of our OL.

I had seen Breece Hall being mocked to the Bucs in the first round but they just re-signed Leonard Fournette so I'd say they're out of drafting RB early.

Daniel Jeremiah's new NFL.com Mock Draft was posted today. And apparently, he's been hanging out with @IronMaidenBills

"Pick 25 Buffalo Bills - Breece Hall, Iowa State RB Junior

The Bills are poised to make a Super Bowl run, and Hall could be the finishing touch on offense."

He could be the finishing touch, depending on what we do @ RG and Spencer Browns potential improvements

The value isn’t there in the first round. I doubt Hall gets selected in the first for that reason. 1st round should be spent on premium positions, CB, Edge rusher, OT, maybe WR.

I know.  I’ve stated that over a hundred times in this thread 😃

but if Beane thinks he’s the guy for us and we can replace RG and CB properly in the other rounds of the draft or a vet FA ring chaser…..he could be the finishing touch.

if he’s not gonna be a 1st rd pick we could conceivably trade down and draft a Rb, CB, OG and WR in the first 3 rounds.

I prefer we didn’t…..but our team is good enough where the draft shouldn’t make or break our super bowl chances.

Lol sorry, I haven’t really visited this thread that much. I wouldn’t be against a trade down, but want them to stay in the 1st for that 5th year option. This draft should be really interesting if Beane brings back Bates and signs a vet CB. Could go many ways.

I highly doubt we take him, but I can dream I guess.

We were possibly taking Etienne last year… it isn’t that far fetched.  If Beane likes a player, he will draft him.  In the case of Etienne if it was true… he didn’t follow up by taking another running back but Rousseau and then Basham… so it’s how he grades a player out and their value at that pick.

This is the one thing that gives me hope that we might take Breece. If we were serious about taking Etienne then I don’t see how we aren’t serious about Breece considering he is just as good if not better than Etienne.

4.39   40.   6’ 1” 217lbs.  A faster and bigger Marshawn Lynch.  Breece can run, catch, and block. He has 2 seasons with over 1,400 yards rushing. Out of all the running backs this year, he is the one I want the most. I really hope we can finally get a star RB to compliment Allen. I would roll with Breece and Singletary.

I agree with you some fans think that Josh has a magical arm and can throw in any conditions but I remember the colts and patriots games in Buffalo were the weather was so bad no Qb could throw but all the colts and patriots did was run the ball and we became the laughing stocks of the league because we could not stop the run.  Buffalo needs that back that puts fears in teams who try to run cover 2 all the time.

Agreed. It’s a good strategic counter balance. Plus Breece would make Allen even more deadly. Teams have to totally game plan around both which makes it nearly impossible. Just thinking about it gets me excited.
