John from Riverside Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 Just get consistent pressure on the quarterback with sacks Mixed in here and there Quote
Dr. K Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 I confess I don't know anything, but I am worried that investing heavily in a player so far along in years could backfire. He could get injured or his play could decline drastically. The Bills have pushed themselves up against the cap with aging players like Miller and Saffold. Quote

Miller has been both durable and consistent in his play. These are his career grades from PFF (I know, I know) and, by their metrics, he has ranked in the top 4 of edge rushers in every year except 2019 (ranked 22nd) when he got injured. His injury required ankle surgery and he sat out 2020. Then came back in 2021 and finished 3rd among edge defenders. He's also played between 75% - 85% (or more) of snaps every year of his career. I would imagine he is going to be somewhere between 65% - 70% in the regular season here and then 75% or better in the playoffs. I just don't see him declining anytime soon. Sweats Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 Im not gonna lie, i love the signing, however, the guy is 33.....do we really think that were gonna get 6 more years outta him? I know that getting an elite pass rusher is gonna cost some serious cash, but the whole thing just kinda reeks of desperate IMO. 1 Quote

The only thing that reeks is your understanding of his contract. Edited March 20, 2022 by TBBills Quote

JohnBonhamRocks Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 Dunno if already posted here, and yes of course he’s 33 and not the athlete he was in 2011, but wow did not know his RAS was 9.97! https://ras.football/2020/01/23/von-miller-ras/?amp Quote
strive_for_five_guy Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 Von’s currently 32nd on the all-time sack list. If he can stay healthy, he could be pressing top 10 on the list towards the end of the 3rd season with us. Let’s get it, Von! https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/sacks_career.htm Quote
