Played out exactly like the JJ Watt chase last year.   Said it wasnt about money, and in the end it was about money.  Nobody should be surprised it ended this way, and I'll be happy watching him collect $17 million a year for a team thats not going to sniff the Lombardi.

how do you know he didn't take less to sign with Raiders? You don't know what he was offered

I’m actually pretty happy about this, he’s a aging pass rusher who got paid a lot of money! Youth and potential is what I hope we get in free agency. But that’s just my opinion.

My words exactly! Didn't want him anyway!

Surprised of all teams, that's where he ended up. So much for wanting to win.

Weird that he says it's not about the money, and he clearly takes the money. Can't blame players wanting Vegas, no state income tax, warm year round, cheap housing, brand new everything, quick flight to LA, and so much money to be made with advertising for casinos. Disappointed cuz I thought he truly just wanted to play for a ring when clearly that was false.

They do when it’s $1billion in public money for a stadium.  I’m not one to want a splashy signing for it’s own sake, but I think McBeane’s gotta read the room a little here.  Replacing our JAG’s with other JAG’s is gonna leave the large majority of the fanbase uninspired.

Read what room? This message board?!? They better not.

You know the old saying. "Once you start listening to the fans, you'll be sitting with them".

For as disappointed as I am with the news today as a fan, they better not make any moves just to make me(us) "happy".

Raiders were in the playoffs.  Not like he’s going to a bottom dweller.  It’s business.   We’ll be fine.

Damnnnnnnn the AFC West just is going to cannibalise itself haha.

I pick Chiefs and Chargers as the playoff teams.  The other teams have new HC's in a really tough division.  Chiefs schedule is the worst by far though.

Chiefs uncommon opponents - Bucs, Bills, Bengals - woof...

Chargers uncommon opponents - Atlanta, Cleveland, Miami

Denver uncommon opponents - Carolina, NYJ, Baltimore

LV uncommon opponents - Saints, Patriots, Steelers

If we're being realistic, there comes a point where money overrides winning.  He already has a Super Bowl ring.

Las Vegas, aka Sin City and $17M per year with no state income tax? There you have it.

Like I said earlier, good luck making it this year in that division. It's very possible they go 0-6.

Because the Bills dont have $17 million to offer him.  So common sense and the least amount of assumptions would tell me he took more money.

Never ever trust any player when they claim it's not about money and they "just wanna win." Every time I've seen that type of situation, the player always goes to the highest bidder. And Beane absolutely refuses to get into any sort of bidding wars.

I'm sure he's out there making the calls and telling agents what type of offer they have. Something like (and this is hypothetical) "Yeah we can go 3 years for $30 million overall" and the agent says "Well, Vegas says they'll give us 3 years at $38 million, you wanna match? My guy says he wants to play there..." And Beane says, "Welp have fun with the other team. Bye. *click*"

They just do not have the assets to chase any of these big names. They're so tight against the cap that no matter their offer, there's at least a dozen or more teams out there that can easily outbid them.

Ah well. Keep on truckin'.

I knew with certain albatross contracts on the payroll they’d have a difficult time landing Jones. Disappointing but not unexpected.
