Good point. He was kinda overpaid for being a niche RB. Now they have more cap room to sign an impact player.

RBs like McKissic are available on Day 3 of every NFL draft. He's obviously experienced, but his skill-set is a dime-a-dozen in the NFL, and incredibly easy to find.

But this frees up cap room to get even better.

Talented players in general are always available on Day 3. It’s just hard to pick them out.

With RBs of McKissic’s style and caliber, it’s not very easy to find, as evidenced by the lack of alternatives available in free agency. The only other guys that really fit the mold and are actually decent are Patterson and McKinnon.

Generally even more difficult in the draft because most of the RBs coming out don’t really know how to pass protect and are primarily ball carriers. Not impossible, and not the end of the world if we don’t have a great one, but it was nice to think we might finally have a RB that can block and catch for the first time since probably Fred’s departure.

I would be more bummed if we had missed out on FAs because the FO thought they had a firm $$ commitment in place. But as others have mentioned, if we can use this room to sign another (better) player like Patterson or Jones, then great.

I do wonder if they would have pivoted and tried to sign Levi for pretty much the same deal if McKissic hadn't agreed in the first place tho..

Jilted lover.

So he wants to go with the team that initially didn’t want him and his in rebuild mode over a team that will be competing for Super Bowl. Ok then!!

Feels less like a rebuild more like a "mid flush"

location and climate, and possibly lifestyle dependong on what he's been doing since getting to the NFL. He's from Arizona and went to school in Arkansas.

I think its as simple as not wanting to move and get acclimated to a new organization if the money is the same.

People dont like change. It's human nature. We're more likely to stick with a known quantity even if it is a lesser choice.

Also crazy when considering how much further your $$$ goes in Buffalo NY vs D.C., especially on a rotational RB salary...  Both are cold, and one you get to play with Josh Allen in sweet uniforms, compete for a chip in front of the best fans in the world... the other is a dumpster fire named Carson, with an arena league named team with no chance at winning a title or even making any post season noise.  Unless they bumped their offer up significantly, he just made a really bad decision.

RBs are a dime a dozen so whatever, terrible career move on this JAGs part however.
