Big Turk Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Solid player, but fringe starter/depth player. I would be surprised if CB wasn't one of our first 2 picks. 1 Quote

BruceVilanch Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 wow, I wanted him back and that seems reasonable. But either way, I trust the process. Quote

My guess would be the Bills think they can improve the talent at the position for the same or more money. The value of the contract is good. 1 1 Quote
ndirish1978 Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Wow, they signed him for a bag of chips. I don't understand why we didn't offer him this same amount with the crap depth we have at CB 2 Quote

I dont like being pigeon-holed into having to pick for a specific position in Round 1, and I dont think Beane does either. Although maybe they think/know/realize that the best value at #25 will likely be a CB anyways. Quote

gjv001 Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Apparently our front office and coaching staff didn't think very highly of Wallace, letting him walk for back-up CB money. Quote
RussellDopeland Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 He was the weak link of this defense the last few years- and his mediocrity played an impactful role in two playoff defeats at KC. Pedestrian corner play combined with an impotent pass rush is an impending disaster in the making when you face an offense like the Chiefs. Wish him the best, but I'm glad he's gone. 1 2 2 Quote

Brandon Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 While I think the Bills really like Dane Jackson, if that contract value is correct, the Bills probably should have brought Wallace back themselves. 1 Quote
Logic Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 My hopes of a first round WR just took a major hit. For the Bills not to match the contract Wallace signed, they must feel confident they can upgrade at CB, and/or they must really like Dane Jackson. I expect a free agent signing or two at CB. No way Beane walks into draft night with this crying a need at CB. 1 Quote

atlbillsfan1975 Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 For things this says- The fact they wouldn’t pay $4 mil a season says a lot to me about how Beane and McD value Wallace’s services. Think how much better Poyer and Hyde will look with another good CB playing CB2. Dane Jackson showed he can be as good as Wallace. Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Wow that is really low money. Bills must have been ready to move on no matter the cost. At this point not much in comp pick compensation for Wallace or Trubisky. CB in first round is a near certainty now. Quote
