Vikings overpaid but I'm sad to see Harry go.  Thought he played great football down the stretch of the second half of the season last year.  Great community guy.  He will be missed.  Best of luck in Minny!

It’s all a show for him. Great video clips making paper airplanes with inner city kids from Riverside, but when the rubber meets the road, it’s all about dollars for him. Just like countless others.

He could live up to that contract but his play here doesn't warrant that much cash. I wish him the best. What a great dude.

This is tough for me, considering his injuries.  But he was an anchor down the stretch for us and played 60% of the snaps on the D-Line, which is a lot for a McD defense.  It's tough to bank a lot of money on him, but I don't think 6 mil per was a lot.  Especially if it had the appropriate "out" clauses.

I agree. I think he got paid what he was worth. I kinda wanted him back, but I'm liking the DT's we are reported to be signing. We'll be okay.

With Star coming back, Ed and Star are the starters with these guys a rotation.  Considering our Cap, it makes sense if these two are paid together what Harry got.  It's a business.

 

What's frustrating is that we will be back here again next year.  Star will be gone and Ed could be gone.  I'm tired of the time and picks on the D-Line.  I wish we could just get out people and hold it for a minute

Dude hitched his wagon to Kyle Williams early on. Good optics, Kyle was a fan favorite.

Harry never lived up to it.

 

Happy for Harry. Good guy overall, great pay day for him.

 

Over-sign for Minny. Not worth it IMO.

What hurt Phillips staying in Buffalo was Star sitting out a year.  If Star hadn't sat, could easily dump him this year for next to nothing and then sign Phillips to replace him.  But once Star sat out, it backed his contract up a year to the point, too expensive to cut him, but not worth the money he's being paid and then couldn't afford another big $$ contract for the same position.
