That cap was recently established (in last 5-10 years I think too maybe with the new CBA). I think I remember something about agents Commission stuff maybe it was in the rookie wage scale agreement.

Fo some reason historically I thought it was higher. And why players started looking at repping themselves during a trend awhile back.

Self-repping is still a trend and I think it's great.  Well ... part of me thinks it's great.  I did some reading about agents a little while back and they do a hell of a lot more than negotiate contracts.  That 3% could be worth it.  But I don't know enough about it to form an informed opinion.

***** TBD was sure the Bills wanted Conp picks.

Worst day of year for @IronMaidenBills is the day the compy's show up and suddenly those 7th rounders are going in round 5.

It just means that now they're actually answering Buffalo's calls.

"Oh, thanks for calling........would love to come to the Bills and be the best version of myself..........can you match the Texans offer?"

Interesting that bills are signing all these players to 1 or 2 year deals. I guess it could be cap issues, but part of me wonders too if they're going all in (as much as they can) to get a ring this year

I think that’s going to be the plan every year now that josh has that contract.

It is interesting and a weird job have to imagine to start doing that job how much individual time and money is spent laying ground work to even get your first player.

but an agent could likely make a living just focusing on the lower tier of sports players. And if possible for example like NFL if that 3% is the cap or mandatory example

MajBob agency decides we are only charging max 1% for every player if that would be allowed by NFL and NFLPA or if they would push back and say No you have to charge 3%

I also think it is overall the right way to handle UFA. Look across league a lot of teams doing 1-3 year UFA deals instead of the Historical 5-7 that used to come. I think more and more teams realizing the value on those long terms deals are never met.

then of course you still have teams like the Jags

I think the low end is 1.5%, but could be wrong.  But yeah ... I was thinking the same kind of thing.

Yeah find those will come to work every day players. Clean off field and at least performs at some level. Would be an easy player to Rep I think. Like Harry’s agent would never have to worry about that call at 4am from the player saying I have something I need fixed.

I wonder just how much these agents get involved when off field issues happen. Like Drew (I think he reps Gregory) how much work did he have to put in to clean up Gregory’s off field and drug issues to become productive again to land that deal with Denver.

Yeah, I figure there are agencies out there who target late-round picks and take 2% or something like that.  You have a handful of agents and snag a couple hundred of those types of players, there's some money to be had.

And yes ... I think agents have a hand in everything their clients do, so I don't think it's a walk in the park.

Good for TT, dude has carved out a nice career.

Eh.  Screw him and his race card.  ***** bum.  Best thing he ever did was leave and somehow get us a 3rd round pick.  Bum.

He also provided me with the most entertaining Monday night I've spent in Seattle. He and Bob Woods went off vs. the Hawks. We will always have Seattle Tyrod, always....
