BuffaloRebound Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Beasley and Star really all that’s left in terms of guys who might be gone. The rest are restructurings/extensions. Quote
Simon Says Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 After the Morse extension and Williams release, looks like the Bills just have enough cap space to sign their draft class. Maybe a little left over for a minimum deal. Major holes at RG,CB,DT,DE with depth needed at WR and RB,at least. I would like to see Phillips and Wallace return, at reasonable $$$,but that can't happen without more salary manipulation. Quote

When we get to guards he is in a pack around 15th - so even with 2 starting guards - he was our higher paid and at just a slightly higher spot than as a tackle. It is not like he was the 15th RT and 10th guard where he is suddenly out of scale. This is a common fallacy when evaluating contracts. Only players that have played long enough to reach free agency will rank at the top, there are plenty of players that are on rookie contracts out-performing those "top paid" guys especially when you get to the 10th spot on the list. The 10th paid guy is never 10th best, it's always much lower. Quote
Niagara Dude Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Based on what Beane stated before today, he wanted to protect Josh Allen and did not expect any major free agent signings. This guard signing was both not a major free agent signing and it falls into his words about protecting Allen. Still early but are we expecting too much and all these rumours/ sources saying Bills are interested in various top free agents are guys looking for clicks or agents looking to drive price up? I just don't see any major activity to clear cap space Quote

Don Otreply Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 So far things are going just like Beane usually goes, not surprised at all. People love the unfounded rumors, and pretend they are valid, some just refuse to understand that past performance is a very likely indicator of future performance. Beane operates the same way every season, with the occasional outlier like the Diggs deal. Is what it is, Go Bills!!! Quote
