I believe that defensive EPA is calculated as having a negative impact on an opponent’s score and, thus, a positive impact on EPA for their team.  Punters would fall into that category.

Hack ranked 35th in average punt yards last season (see link below). He was 35th out of 32 starting punters. That's not a starter. But by paying him anything it's now possible he could become the starter next year.

A below average punter but a fantastic kick holder. I don't think they spend draft capital on a punter although I could be wrong. I think they will live with his punting (which regressed last year, maybe they expect some positive regression as in Miami he was average to above average at punting) since he is such a good holder.

So, made it easier to cut and doesn't preclude getting a new punter.  Great.

The guy is a great holder for kicks, which is more important that a few extra yards on punts for us. Secondly Haack will hopefully only be on the field 30 times this coming year. Lastly this past year was his worst year because of about 6 terrible plays, I believe/hope he will work that out.

Haack has played better including playing in Buffalo before.

Not sure what caused his issues last year.

Bills need to bring in an assistant ST coach who has experience in kicking, especially in Buffalo, into camp.

I wonder if Moorman would like a job?

How hard is it to be a good holder?  You catch the ball and make sure the laces are out.

There's no way they think he's the guy. He's legitimately the worst in the nfl and had arguably one of the worst single games in nfl history, and we are restructuring..... are we paying him 1 mill to just hold?
