Seriously though, the pats are old and slow on defense. Which was very evident when they played us. 

 

They also have very little cap space.

 

They will be making a lot of changes and going through at least a mini rebuild. Don't expect them to be competitive in the division for at least a couple years. 

They will compete and be competitive. Blelicheck is that good.

Granted, Allen made him look beyond silly, but Allen has done that with a lot of people!

 

With that said, if it is 1-2 years of Van Noy or our polarizing middle linebacker, I would take Van Noy because he also has an ability to get sacks and turnovers.

Sounds like Jackson is leaving NE, too.

 

With guys like Hightower & McCourtey getting older, that defense is close to a full rebuild.

 

I don't think the Pats will be competitive again in the BB era.  Unless he coaches another 5-10 years.
