Have you seen him play for the Giants?

Yea.  He’s a TE that basically plays the slot.

He’s still a big body that can be utilized in certain 2-TE sets and will likely be more effective in the slot with Allen throwing to him, Knox in line and Diggs/Davis flanking him.

Beggars can’t be choosers.  We aren’t flush with cash.   He’s a guy that we can hope to elevate.

McKenzie isn't actually costing us $4 million this year. Let's what the real numbers look like before jumping to conclusions.

Oh I'd guess that the McKenzie cap hit is only $2M or so in 2022 but that there will be dead money if cut after the season...........and they are already going to be borrowing money against the 2023 cap........and I expect that they will likely want to move on from Dirty after this season.    At least I'd hope they'd find a couple WR in this draft that they think are keepers.

As for Engram...........$9M is just absurd if that rumor is true.    I understand that GM's get obsessed with players they wanted to draft and maybe that's the deal with Beane and Engram but he hasn't earned that kind of contract.

Am I missing something? What does Engram bring that Knox does not?

I've been critical of Rambo in the past, but didn't he have a good season? I  feel like this money better is spent elsewhere.

Engram plays primarily out of the slot.

He’d be signed to play with Knox, not back him up.

Did you watch Knox take a huge step last season or no?

Apparently he missed the fact that Knox tied for the lead in TE TDs too

He brings explosive athleticism and an ability to stretch the field.  Why only have one?  Bills need more explosiveness on offense and defense.

I don't think they cut him after the season. They know what they have with him. I guess by me saying that it should be longer term deal though. But can't keep everyone forever.

I agree 100%. I think dirty’s cap hit will be around $2.5m. I think Engram goes for 5-6m per

Giant fans would be laughing at the Bills for signing Engram.

And Giant fans aren't in a position to be laughing at anyone. But they would if the Bills sign Engram.

Really? This is actually the guy I want. He’s already tight with Knox. He’s versatile where he can line up as a big WR. He’s fast. We really need another TE, I think Dorsey wants to run 2 TE sets.

2 TE sets have their place, but it's not an offense I want to transition to with this kind of signing. I'm high on Gabe and I'd like to see us get McKenzie more involved. I think there's probably a better WR/receiving option we could make a play for in FA, by trade or draft. I trust in Beane, but my gut says pass on this move.

2 extremely athletic TE’s are not your father’s 12 personnel. Crazy mismatches. Especially if the CMC rumor is true

This **** right here. The #2 TE isnt blocking anybody these days. If he is....it isnt some big thumper OLB.

12 personnel package would make us more multiple. With 2 pass catching TEs who can block you're truly a threat to run or pass without letting formation tip your hand like it would when we line up in 12 now. Engram's speed is a weapon.
