whorlnut Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 This doesn’t make any sense. All the reporters told me he wasn’t accurate. This can’t be true… 2 1 1 Quote
JDubya76 Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Josh wasn’t first in every category? BUST. He will never change the narrative performing like this…. Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Can't wait to see him hitting deep balls to some guys with elite speed that outrun the coverage next year. 4 1 1 Quote
msw2112 Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 (edited) Does anyone know if this calcuation takes YAC into account? A 5 yard screen pass that the guy takes 80 yards to the house doesn't demonstrate deep ball accuracy and could skew the stats. That said, the Bills' YAC is one of the lowest in the league (if not the lowest), so if YAC isn't taken into account, these stats are even MORE impressive for Allen. Throws 21+ yards past the LOS. 2 Quote

It's a study of throws that meet a minimum air yards distance, so no, there are no 5-yard screen passes in this data. One amazing thing is that Allen has the highest completion percentage, the highest accurate throw percentage, and the highest number of accurate throws that were incomplete (I'd guess some of those were throwing into double coverage). It looks like he was the best deep thrower by far, with only Stafford and maybe Burrow at least within range. Can't wait to see what it will be like when Allen gets good. 9 Quote
All I Need is Hope Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Wow, he really does just knock down one after another all of his deficiencies coming into the league. At this rate, he’s going to be so far beyond what we thought a QB could be that we’ll only have to field Josh and 3 receivers. 1 Quote
Dopey Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Before all the snide remarks regarding the media begin, when he first entered the league, this was an issue. His development has been fun to watch. Great job, Josh and coaching staff! 2 1 Quote
HereComesTheReignAgain Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Love seeing Allen at or near the top in every category. I also love seeing Mac Jones at the bottom! 4 Quote

For some reason I thought of Robert Foster when I read this comment. Josh made him look like a future Pro Bowler for that one season. 1 Quote

Kind of feels like Allen breaks this stat, like he's gotten better dropping it in a bucket but still has room to grow there, but he throws frozen ropes at such a long distance that he throws the whole thing off. 1 1 Quote
The Wiz Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 (edited) That's right folks, the best deep ball passer in the league, best qb rating in playoff history and zero MVP votes. Apparently the voters only watch prime time games. Edited March 4, 2022 by The Wiz 1 Quote
boater Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Thank you Josh for your relentless pursuit of improving, your long ball once sucked but is now excellente. Thank you Jordan Palmer for helping 17 work out the kinks. 4 Quote

MJS Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 So crazy that a couple years ago we considered this one of his weaknesses. Josh Allen is a man on a mission to not just improve his weaknesses but to turn them into strengths, and even become the BEST at them. Honestly, I've never seen anything like it. He is supremely gifted. 5 Quote
