Pittsburgh has grass and it looks pretty rough come November/December.

In addition to the Stillers, Pitt also plays at Heinz field.

Then they play a bunch of HS football games on that turf in November.

After that is when it starts getting torn up.

I don't think the Bills aren't going to have that problem.

I really think we’re missing the boat when it comes to stadium location. I don’t live in Buffalo, so obviously it wouldn’t affect me as far as traffic and other hold-ups that residents would need to deal with, but re-locating the stadium downtown overlooking the lake and city just seems that much better to me. I have season tickets and coming from NYC, I usually stay at least one night, the night before, or night after the game at the Marriott downtown. Walking around, most times it seems like a ghost town in the space all around the harbor center, and the casino. If the Sabres aren’t playing, bars are closed, and unless you’re getting in the car, things to do are slim. I don’t think the tailgating would change all the much. Bills fans know how to do it, and they’ll find a way, especially in this social media driven world we live in. The tram that runs past the harbor center. Do people actually use that? It just seems like a beautiful stadium down there would attract new business, new hotels, greater use of the surrounding area and improved infrastructure amongst many things. Again, I’m a visitor, so I have different views here.

All great comments. Buffalo is at a crossroads for sure. If they let this major public improvement stay in the suburbs it’ll be another 50 years (if ever) before something of this magnitude comes to downtown. That doesn’t mean it’s wrong to stay in OP. Maybe downtown Buffalo is just…in a word…done.

Crazy Eddie is buying the Sabres from Pegula and a lot of prime commercial real estate in Buffalo.........he made a score with his real estate moves in DC.........maybe a stadium downtown isn't a necessity.

A dead area is a dead area. It needs year-round entertainment to thrive, not a stadium.

He said "could". It also could rain money and Bills could move to Austin.  Could me means maybe or maybe not or I COULD be making stuff up.  I think latter is most probable.

Agreed, but a facelift, infrastructure repair, and big business don’t hurt in attracting investment and other business. Again, as a visitor to the city, it’s something that would attract me to an area, as I want to stay downtown, rather I find myself going up to Hyrtle or Elmwood, which are great areas, but i like many others,I think, would prefer not to get into a car to go check things out, and especially not to go to the stadium.

That would be great, but I just think you have it backwards. You build a stadium there because of the area. You don't build up the area because of the stadium. The way you describe it is putting the cart before the horse. Buffalo metro has a declining population. It's not a growing entertainment district.
