Josh is the only QB on the roster... who's going to back him up?

Beane's approach last offseason to bring Trubisky in makes me doubt we'll let a 5th round drafted rookie QB be 1 snap away from getting under center, which means one of our FA acquisitions this offseason is going to be a vet FA QB... which costs money.

 

PLUS one of our draft picks is likely going to be a QB because... well... we only have Josh...

It’s lost in the discussion because it’s only February……free agency and the draft haven’t even started yet. It’s at the bottom of the to-do list right now.

I wouldn't hate Tyrod solid game manager with plus ability to make plays with his legs. Might want to rehab his value after not getting a decent shot to start the past few seasons due to injury. You could do worse for a backup.

Darnold is a terrible QB who's not worth wasting a roster spot on.  If he wasn't a top 5 draft pick, he wouldn't have been on any team's active roster last season.

 

I'd look for a younger backup QB who's showed some promise like Kyle Allen or Gardner Minshew or Tyler Huntley.   I don't know if any of these are FAs but these would be the type I'd like the Bills to look at: guys who can be at least competent starters for a few games.

We'll see how it shakes out...Thing is, College is going to keep pumping in QB's that will be drafted and make Rosters. They may not all be great, or even decent, but they take jobs. And guys like Trubisky fall through the cracks. Plus the Bills QB room is a pretty sweet gig if you're a back-up...The Bills will have a decent QB 2 and 3. Just have no idea right now who they will be...
