LA market not in top 10 for SB TV ratings

Breaking news? Obviously there are a ton of people there and much harder to achieve a 40-50 rating like you would find in Cincinnati but most would find a 36.7 rating and 77 share a bit disappointing of a number when they are the host city AND their team is playing in the game.

Maybe…but you threw in the idea of not deserving two teams. Even with those low ratings there are probably TEN TIMES as many eyeballs on screens as there are in all of WNY.

whats nuts is that I saw a Rams game earlier this year and fans were wearing other random NFL jerseys (not of the rams or their opponent).  It reminded me of when the Bills played in Toronto.

There are simply more entertainment options for Los Angeles than most other markets. Toss in the fact that a lot of people went out to watch the game (it started at 3:30 in LA) and I wouldn't be shocked if that skews the ratings.

The LA area, and California as a whole is Baseball and Basketball region, alway has been, I’ve been in Cali for over three months this winter, Haven’t seen a single new LA team football hat or jersey, Just leftover San Diego & Oakland stuff, and not much of that either.

USC’s attendance is putrid. I don’t know about UCLA. Maybe Lincoln Reilly will help.

Bills draw a 47.2 for an average game.    Cincinnati is less than that for the Super Bowl.

This is chargers games too. But the nfl knew that, they don’t care. It’s total eyeballs they care about.

You have 364 other days for those entertainment options. For them to host the Super Bowl with the home team playing in it they should have had better numbers. Even with all the people going out to watch the game.

Again, it’s Super Bowl Sunday. In their city. With their team playing. If there are other “entertainment options” during that 3 hour window, they do not care about football. Which is totally fine but makes me feel bad for the other 29 cities. Happy for their fans that DO care, obviously.

Meanwhile, here in WNY we would remember it for the rest of our lives. You'd see people 20 years from now wearing the Bills SB champion shirts from this SB.

 

I know I would be crying like a blubbering seal with a mixture of sheer joy, disbelief, and more sheer joy. I'll bet Rams fans high fived each other and went to the beach or something.

If/when the Bills win the Super Bowl they would have to close every business for that Monday in WNY. People would be partying all night long. Getting up for work the next day would be almost impossible.

Back then it probably was. Recently the coliseum has been empty and the team has been irrelevant. I would guess Lincoln Reilly could turn that around but we will see.
