Yup.  I absolutely love football, but the mess the NFL has become only slightly resembles it.  With the money now involved and knowing what we know about CTE I doubt we will ever see the game I loved again.  Those who love the current iteration are welcome to it.

My favorite part of it these days is the fan interaction where I don't know I could find out if people follow their horoscopes, what their favorite phrases are, and any other Andy Kaufman fans out there.  Wink wink

I’m 51, I’ve seen every Bills game since I can remember and that’s a LOT of bad football. I’m well into the IDGAF phase of my life, except for the Bills.

With the Bills, I still get completely irrationally emotional both high and low over a stupid game and I Iove it.

Because I’ve suffered so much, the highs - like absolutely OBLITERATING the Pats* are so much higher. Also, when we had 13 seconds left before we moved onto the AFC Championship I knew the game wasn’t over but even then I had a hard time believing they screwed that up so bad.

Bills are finally relevant, so you start this string? For those who say they only watch Bills games. So what's the point of that? If everyone only cared about their own team, what's the point of winning a championship? There's no bragging rights, if no one else cares... Right?  Very odd.

Yes, I would say I am losing interest in the NFL. Poor refs/ favourable treatment towards certain markets, gambling,  too many commercial breaks/ promotions/ greed, lack of relegation system.

If it not were for the Bills, I would have walked away a long time ago. The Bills are a comfort of mine, when everything else is wrong with the world.

It definitely feels scripted and the officiating is absolutely horrible. They go from letting a both teams hold, hand check and slaps to the head to calling soft penalties in the last 2 min. I really had a passion for it but it starting to feel like I’m watch WWE

Agree.

I don't know all the details/skinny on the deals with on line gambling and the NFL.  But I mean it's just not a good thought in general.  Gambling and NFL mixing

When I was a kid I knew the rosters of all 26 teams, but I have not lost interest in the NFL.
The negatives (racism, corporate socialism, etc.) have always been there and the players are now financially treated much better. Bread and circuses.

I have been  losing interest in sports in general but right now I am mainly only watching football. I don't watch hockey right now because Sabres are so bad still, I don't watch MLB due to games becoming HR/SO fest and politics played, and I am permanently staying away from NBA due to the Golden State Warrior owner stating they don't care if the NBA benefits directly from slavery with no reaction. I am actually even excited about USFL and hope they do well.

According to the NFLs own statements in court you are watching 'sports entertainment'. Like the WWE, the NFL stated they are in the entertainment business producing an entertainment product.

This is not to say the games are fixed, however the NFL has clearly stated they would be within their rights to do so.

Yea I just don’t have the passion for the game that I once did because of this and officiating. I’m focusing on golf in the summer and working OT in the winter.

If I’m going to watch something that’s scripted I’m just going to watch that bikini football league

I suppose I've lost interest or ran out of free time.

I used to watch alot of football, regardless of teams. Now if it isn't a playoff game or the Bills I'm out usually, unless I just happen to be sitting in front of a TV.

I wrote this long thread naming over 30 reasons why I am losing interest in the NFL but I deleted the entire non coherent mess because the issues are all to obvious.

Should we find out that an NFL owner truly attempted to pay a coach to lose then all credibility is lost. IMO

Are you losing interest and what are your issues with the NFL ?

I am more interested in the Bills than ever. They are not only good, but they are fun to watch. Josh is obviously a big part of that.

I realized a few years ago that my son was into fantasy football, and he knew all about players across the league. I am not THAT. I watch the Bills, and other than that only premiere games.

I used to watch whatever they put on, but now I just watch what is interesting.

The refs are a problem, but they always have been to some extent. Replays from a dozen angles exacerbate the problem. We used to play, then move on. Now we watch, then re-watch. Then watch again in super-slow-mo. . And again. And they STILL don’t always get it right!

FULL TIME REFS! It’s a multi-billion dollar industry. This is NOT high school basketball!

When I was a kid, football was life.  As an adult it has moved way down the list of important things.

As I read all the emotional over reactions from posters in this forum it makes me feel contempt for people obsessed with sports and my former self for being one of them.

Some of us / me especially refuse to grow up
