Beane needs to follow some but not all of the Rams footprint to a title. Make a couple of splash win now moves to get a big time defensive play maker or two I think on offence we saw tonight what speed at the RB position looks like in Mixon, even with a terrible line he made some nice runs. I think a speed RB along with another speed WR who has good YAC ability and our offence will get to another level. Maybe add another guard and then focus on getting play makers on defense After watching Bengals LB'S tonight I would trade Edmunds over paying him big money which he does not deserve. The Bengals don't have a GM. Look at their org chart. Quote
zow2 Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 I like what Mcvay said in his post game presser about Aaron Donald. Just elevates everyone. Mcvay said he was mic’d up and on the 4th down at the end knew Donald would make the game ending play because “he’s the effing man” No chance a Bills player sacks Burrow on 4th and half a yard. Zero chance. We don’t have a game closer like that. 1 1 Quote
ChrisWatson#21 Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Rams had FOUR false starts in the third and goal play but Bengals were called for a ticky tack holding in the most crucial moment of the game😂 1 Quote

We found out what happens when two teams that are afraid to win the Super Bowl meet in a Super Bowl. Kinda' reminded me of the Steelers vs. Seahawks matchup. Glad the Bengals lost.......SB losing teams that have never won a SB prior really tend to not get back..........and the refs pulling their prior unused flags out just as the Rams were trying to ***** defeat from the jaws of victory was both distasteful and fitting, I guess. I'm not blaming officiating by any means.........the lesson is don't play yourself into close games where a bad bounce or flag can sink you. Bengals had the Rams on the ropes immediately after halftime and didn't step on their throat while the Rams were reeling. I agree. I was bored most of the game and continually shook my head at the number of times the Rams thought it was a good idea to run the ball. McVay's rep as an 'offensive genius' is vastly overblown. The refs decided to hide their flags most of the game but miraculously found them on the Rams game-winning drive like a twenty dollar bill hidden in a winter coat. Goodell and Hollywood got their Hollywood ending but nothing about that Super Bowl screamed great. 2 1 1 Quote
NickelCity Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Was there a positive yardage play by the bengals offense where the ball career didn't peacock and flex at the camera? It was bizarre. 1 1 Quote
davefan66 Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 (edited) I really tried to enjoy the game. Picked the Bengals to root for because AFC. And I hate OBJ. All I could do was watch and think WWJA do? No way he’s sacked that many times. No way he doesn’t get first downs. Kinda gut wrenched now. Keep thinking what if? Dang. Did you see his outfit coming into the stadium? Yes, he was dressed to the nines. It's the Super Bowl! Bills fans have a weird inferiority complex with any other young QB that is seen as Allen's competition. First it was Lamar, then Mahomes, now it's Burrow. It'll be Herbert next season if the Chargers are successful. Edited February 14, 2022 by Chicken Boo 1 1 Quote

It was not a particularly enjoyable game, but you have to admit it did have a close/fairly interesting finish, which is way more than I thought it would have. I had the Rams winning easily in a mini-blowout, so compared to that, the game was actually good in a way. I'll forget who was playing before next season begins! LOL Quote
LOVEMESOMEBILLS Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 After the 75 yard TD pass to open the 2nd half the Bengals had 6 drives, 31 plays for 61 yards. That's a whole lotta really bad offense. 2 1 Quote

sullim4 Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 This was just a very uninteresting game to me. Neither team was a villain like the Pats* or Brady used to be. The Rams are the embodiment of "Corporate NFL" with their combination of stadium, owner, and fairly pedestrian fanbase. Neither QB lit it up in what is such a quarterback-driven league. The Bengals have fans with heart, and they played a pivotal role in breaking the drought, so I was rooting for them. But even still... it felt like these teams were playing by default after the choke jobs that the Buffalo Defense, Mahomes, and Rodgers delivered. 6 3 Quote

Yeah, his o-line is terrible. Josh would have rushed out a few of those sacks, or scrambled. Quote

LOL Vegas begs to differ and the four point line was pretty spot on...the Rams missed a PAT. It was not an awful game, I just found it mostly boring with a little drama thrown in at the end. Quote

Big Blitz Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Some egregious coaching decisions that cost you championships don't always happen with 13 seconds left. Many often go unnoticed Joe Mixon needed to be THE man tonight. You weren't throwing it on the Rams like this was the 5th string Ravens secondary Burrow throw for 1000 yards against - I'm sure 900 of it was YAC. Only 15 carries for Mixon. And somehow 5 catches for 1 yard. Quote
Nihilarian Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Joe Burrow managed to do what he did in 2021, 4600 yards passing, 34 TDs while getting sacked 51 times. Heck, the kid was sacked 9x against the Titans in that playoff game and still went 28 for 37 for 348 yards. He had the crap beaten out of him in that SB with a record 7 sacks I think of Burrow right up there with Allen, Herbert, Mahomes as one of the top young QBs in the AFC. I think it might be tougher for Mahomes now with McDaniel's as Raiders HC...hoping anyway. Quote

BringMetheHeadofLeonLett Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Thinking about the debates on getting better seeding, and who we could take at home vs. on the road... screw that We were better than both those teams. Just get to the dance and let the chips fall. Next year again, but it's close 1 Quote
