Estro Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 Danielle Hunter, DE, Minnesota Vikings is a perfect trade candidate for the Bills this offseason: 1. He's one of the best DE's in the league. 2. The Vikings have serious cap issues. 3. 27 years old, so plenty of shelf life 4. Has 2 years, $25.5M left (A STEAL!) 5. Injuries might motivate Vikings to deal 6. Bills in desperate need of elite DE & the biggest one of all: 7. Vikings save $22M in space if traded. 8 8 1 1 Quote

LABILLBACKER Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 14.5 sacks and 21 TFL's. Yes please. What's his latest health report? Quote

stinky finger Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 Terrific player but I don’t see Beane going back to this well for yet another DL with that cost. Not after last years investments. 1 Quote

Not after last years investments. Previous investments don't matter. Keep building the d-line until it's elite. Hunter is a perfect candidate to fill in the one weakness we had trying to beat the Chiefs. But I doubt the Vikings would want to trade an elite defensive player in the prime of his career, even after his pectoral injury. If he's available for our 1st round it's a no brainer just like trading for Diggs was. 2 5 Quote

The Bills are $1.3M under the cap. We are in a bit better shape, but not a lot. And Hunter would cost us $19.5M this year. Yes, it's possible, and yes they could kick cans down the road, but it would start us towards being in consistent cap problems. And Beane doesn't want to do that. Which is going to be a good thing for a lot of years. I don't see it, myself, though again it's certainly not impossible. But for a guy who's played seven games in two seasons I'm guessing it's too big of a gamble. Edited February 13, 2022 by Thurman#1 1 1 2 Quote

That's a lesson that teams with young dominant quarterbacks should in no way learn. Teams with Matt Stafford, maybe. Teams with Josh Allen, no. 1 1 2 Quote

Buffalo Barbarian Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 Andre Patterson exit could signal end of Danielle Hunter in Minnesota "Hunter is playing on a bargain contract for a pass rusher of his elite talent, and the Vikings could be shifting to more of a 3-4 defensive scheme with Donatell overseeing things under soon-to-be hired head coach Kevin O’Connell. That isn’t to suggest Hunter wouldn’t excel in that sort of defense, but he would be asked to do more than simply pinning his ears back and making opposing quarterbacks cry “uncle.” https://vikingswire.usatoday.com/2022/02/12/andre-patterson-exit-could-signal-end-danielle-hunter-minnesota/ 2 2 Quote

Its a pie in the sky argument in any event… but I am just curious what the OP proposes we are going to give up for him… normally there is an expectation in some of these threads that we are going to get these type of players for peanuts.. Magox Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 As great as he talent as he is, Beane values availability and Hunter has only played in 7 games the past two years. 3 2 Quote
Process Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 Would much rather just sign Chandler Jones for 2 years and save the draft pick. 3 DEs in the first two rounds the last two years. Enough. 6 2 Quote
CaptnCoke11 Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 They’d have to cut a lot of good players just to be able to afford that contract. Pipe dream 1 Quote
