The Department of Defense’s National Defense University (NDU), the premier education institution for military and defense civilian leaders, is planning to host a lecture on how Western countries should adopt socialism in response to the challenge from China.

The lecture, which is scheduled to take place online February 16, is titled, “Responding to China: The Case For Global Justice and Democratic Socialism,” and will be given by French economist Thomas Piketty, who is the author of a 2021 book titled Time for Socialism.

A summary of the event, posted on the university’s website, reads:

"Western countries are still struggling to define their attitude towards the Beijing regime. In this talk on February 22, 2022, Thomas Piketty will argue that the right answer lies in ending Western arrogance and promoting a new emancipatory and egalitarian horizon on a global scale, a new form of democratic and participatory, ecological and post-colonial socialism.

If they stick to their usual lecturing posture and a dated hyper-capitalist model, Western countries may find it extremely difficult to meet the Chinese challenge."

"Hyper capitalist?"  That's the tell this is a sham.  Anyone seen any "hyper capitalism" here in the last 60 years?  Anyone?  What does that even mean?  Goal posts have moved on everything to them it probably means if the government cuts the top tax rate from 35% to 33%.

We're under attack.  Always have been but the stakes surged post Brexit, Trump, and a free and open internet. The goal is economic destruction of the U.S. and the complete breakdown of societal norms in order to make it possible.

The latest variant of Socialism doesn't require State control of the private sector.  At least not now, no need.  Socialists don't have to nationalize anything when the massive corporations they are fully in bed with are doing all they want anyway.  They still get the same results.

They just quoted from the NDU website.  They injected zero opinion in the article - unless you count their quotes from Gorka which I didn't include.

That's the event.  It's pretty straightforward Bill.

Now I injected my 2 cents - and posted a tweet from the World Economic Forum from 6 years ago I think many would find a bit eye opening in light of recent events - and that everything you've been shouting down as conspiracy for 2 years has come to fruition

Sooo....not sure how you can talk about credibility.

And?  Are they making this up yes or no?

What is evil Breitbart missing here Bill?  I'd like to know so I can better understand why the DOD is having someone come lecture on the wonders of Chinese style Socialism...

Tell us we're under attack without saying we're under attack:

U.S. Army releases plan to address climate change

The U.S. Army unveiled a new strategy Tuesday for dealing with global disruptions caused by climate change, which it says "endangers national and economic security."

"The time to address climate change is now. The effects of climate change have taken a toll on supply chains, damaged our infrastructure, and increased risks to Army Soldiers and families due to natural disasters and extreme weather," Secretary of the Army Christine E. Wormuth wrote in the introduction to the report.

"The Army must adapt across our entire enterprise and purposefully pursue greenhouse gas mitigation strategies to reduce climate risks. If we do not take action now, across our installations, acquisition and logistics, and training, our options to mitigate these risks will become more constrained with each passing year."

Specifically, the report makes the case that the likelihood of armed conflict will grow around the world as temperatures continue to rise and the competition for resources increases.

"The risk will rise even more where climate effects compound social instability, reduce access to basic necessities, undermine fragile governments and economies, damage vital infrastructure and lower agricultural production," the report states.

Part of the Army plan includes making all military installations more self-sufficient in terms of energy and water needs, but it also calls for a sweeping transformation to sources of clean energy, switching to an all-electric fleet of noncombat vehicles by 2035 and for the development of electric combat vehicles by 2050.

The Army's new report comes on the heels of the October release of the Department of Defense Climate Risk Analysis. In the foreword to that report, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin called climate change an "existential threat."

"Climate change touches most of what this Department does, and this threat will continue to have worsening implications for U.S. national security," he wrote.

"First, the Biden administration used troops as critical race theory lab rats. Now President Biden wants to turn the Army into a climate change task force," Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas, the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, told CQ Roll Call. "Time and money spent indulging Democrats' political goals is time and money lost in the fight against America's enemies — and our enemies know it."

With in that 1 hr discussion he may convince some of those sheeple that socialism is the way to go because being sheeple they they don't have the power of independent thought & want to be told what & how to do it instead of being able to think for them selves so it will just get more on board to think what this country was built on independence & freedom is not the right way to think .

I believe that this "democratic Socialism" is all part of the new world order what needs to happen is these companies that were started here in the states need to come back here so we can be independent once again & not under the thumb of China or any one else .

When the pandemic hit & solely because of the majority of products that the US uses being made in China they had us right where they wanted us & still do and the really bad thing is that they know it & will use it in any way to help their personal power grab all over the globe which is another reason why we need to go back to the US being more independent economically .

As far as the PPP thing when the previous POTUS was in office at that time specifically due to the shut down of a large part of the US economy they felt PPP was necessary .

But now that things are opening up & the gov't along with other states are still printing more money pushing thing like in Cali the extension of unemployment benefits because those people are freaked out or just plain lazy & don't want to go back to work is just foolish gov't spending especially seeing as there are hiring signs all over the place .

There is no need to be pumping more money out to those that just don't want to go back to work & would rather sit home on their A** and get "free Gov't Money" ... Which is totally different from the beginning of the pandemic .

Agreed about the unemployment points. Unemployment serves a purpose but endless extensions sends the wrong message and is ridiculous given how many jobs are currently available.

You can use that argument for any publication...But then you’re never learning anything...

Best way to go is just read it, but compare it to other view points to get a more well rounded view imo...👍
