Doc Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 Yeah, someone who has an AICD (pacemaker/defibrillator) is not anywhere close to being "healthy." At my surgery center, we turf them to the hospital unless they're having a low-risk procedure like a cataract. Never mind the stroke, which he still hasn't recovered fully from in over 5 months, and likely never will.
Big Blitz Posted October 20, 2022 Author Posted October 20, 2022 Lol this didn't suddenly happen in the last few weeks. This is a really bad number for Joe Biden Which brings me to a number buried in the latest New York Times/Siena College poll about President Joe Biden. Biden's overall job approval number among likely voters stood at 39%, while his disapproval number stood at 58%. But when you look at strong approval and disapproval – signs of passion – you see the real trouble. A total of 18% strongly approve of the job Biden is doing. Almost three times that number – 45% – strong disapprove. And of that 45%, 9 in 10 said they plan to vote for a Republican for Congress in the midterm elections. (Overall, 49% of likely voters said they were more likely to vote for a Republican candidate, compared to 45% who said they were more likely to vote for a Democratic candidate.) https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/19/politics/biden-nyt-siena-poll-midterms/index.html Looks like "They're trying to get the polls right" SZN. 1
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 It was easy to assume Dobbs was a nail in the coffin for the Republican hopes of regaining the majority in the house or senate. but oh my, the democrats can’t explain how they don’t own the current economic disaster, so they are trying to pretend it doesn’t exist??? How condescending they must bank on the dumbest people on earth as their base. 1

Doc Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 The party in power always loses seats in the first mid-terms, even if things are going well. It's a shitshow right now. Do the math. 1

B-Man Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 Fetterman Held a Black Jogger at Gunpoint. The Media Ignored It and Tim Scott Is Calling Them Out. Townhall, by Spencer Brown Twenty days out from the general election, Republican Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina took Democrats and the media to task for trying to sweep an incident, in which Democrat U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman held an innocent black jogger at gunpoint, under the rug. "I can't even believe it," Scott said during a town hall hosted by Sean Hannity in York, Pennsylvania, that was broadcast on Fox News Channel. "A person puts a shotgun in a man's chest — an innocent man," Scott noted. "Imagine it being a white Republican putting a shotgun in the chest of a black man," https://townhall.com/tipsheet/spencerbrown/2022/10/20/tim-scott-drops-the-truth-about-fettermans-run-in-with-a-black-jogger-n2614791 . 1
B-Man Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 Kari Lake Could Be Tormenting Democrats for Years (msn.com) She is more likely than not to win her race for governor of Arizona, and then would have to be considered the favorite to become Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick should he win the Republican nomination again in 2024. If Lake wins, she instantly has to be at the top of Trump’s potential VP list. There won’t be many other major officeholders as enthusiastic about his 2020 fixation as Lake. She’d be a governor from a crucial swing state. She’s a woman. And she’s thoroughly absorbed the Trumpian practice of politics as combat and theater and can build a crowd. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/kari-lake-could-be-tormenting-democrats-for-years/ar-AA13c356?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=5b654fce9e064c7b81a4f8c0c9fbb3a4 .

B-Man Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Good sign if liberals are lowering expectations like this. Yep, they’re going to declare Democrat victory if the Democrats lose the House. LOL. ConservaJoker @ConservaJoker I get that @TheDemocrats want to make themselves feel better, I’m not sure leaning into “Yeah, Republicans blew us out, but not by quite as much as they could have” is going to provide much comfort. 1
