You know, they say last names used to be created based on a person’s profession (Ex: Farmer) or relationship (Ex:  John’s son = Johnson).  So, was his name created based on an ancestor who smiled a lot?

I wonder now if it wasn't a miscommunication on the part of Farwell but rather an act of insubordination. A mere misunderstanding is hardly grounds to fire someone, if that is in fact what happened. Maybe Farwell changed the call.
