I think somebody already mentioned it.. but I feel like Darnold is destined to be a Bill in 2022.

Can CAR get rid of him without too much dead cap hit this year?

Seems more like a 2023 destiny to me.

It looks like his $18.858M in 2022 is fully guaranteed. So, there is no cap savings to cutting him and I doubt the Bills have any interest in an $18M cap hit for a back up QB.

The only way Darnold comes here is a via a trade as the Panthers are not going to cut a guy they have on the books for an $18.9 M salary.  Bills aren't trading for a backup QB with an $18.9 M salary.

That was the second HUGE Carolina mistake. First was giving up too much compensation to get him. Then picking up his guaranteed fifth year before ever even seeing him in practice.

Splashy move. Sign the guy you drafted 3rd round in 2017

They've regretted cutting him & now see the error of their ways.  Plus, he's an upgrade from Glennon, Fromm & Lewerke.

Draft another mid to late round QB and there is your QB2. That you can then flip in 3 years for assets.

time to get in the QB flipping business. Allen is the “Vet” QB on this roster. Nothing more than Rollie Contracts for that BU.

If Davis Webb wasn't a coach in waiting, he'd already be flipping burgers.

Rodgers to the Titans is not happening unless someone is willing to trade for Tannehill.  IOW, Rodgers to the Titans is not happening.
