The news that Patrick Graham has left the New York Giants DC post to take over as the Las Vegas Raiders DC,  despite Daboll making a public statement that he wanted to keep Patrick Graham as his DC, has me worried that Daboll is driving coaches away.

It’s a clear sign that he’s in way over his head in NY and is an extremely toxic individual.

This is 100% believable and probably accurate given everything we know today.

I think as more information leaks out from coaches that have already left and others likely out the door soon that there's trouble in paradise so to speak and this another reason Daboll’s seat may be very hot in 2022.

Guys, I’m 10000000% kidding.

If this were true then why did they even hire him or Bills assistants follow him there. Our two best players Allen & Diggs love him,  Diggs talked about how Daboll made him elite so just because he decided to leave and become a HC does not make him toxic.

Take Leslie! I really like the youth movement. He's done his job here, amd has stayed past his necessary time.

Old dog doesn't learn new tricks. Especially if we decide to add another high end CB, we need to be more aggressive.

Bieniemy has best resume by far of the assistant coach 1st time HC candidates, has for a few years.

Daboll has coached several position groups and worked for some very successful coaches: belichick, saban and McDermott. His players love him, he seemed the most prepared IMO: well, Flores notwithstanding and whatever is going on there.

Two. Bobby Johnson (OL to OL) and Shea Tierney (Assistant QBs to QB Coach).

He also snagged Laura Young to some “director of coaching” position.  She was on the Bills staff last year.

Good job I wasn't talking about 1st time candidates then isn't it? I specifically said if the first time HIRES.

Apparently Andy Reid calls the plays.

Someone here stated that the KC QB coach, Mike Kafka (whom Daboll just hired as his OC) has actually been creating the game plans.  I don't think they gave the source.

If that's the case, it's a good question what experience Bieniemy actually does or does not have.

How many coaches have were lost to Giants?

2 thus far but I expect he may explore one of the Bills defensive assistants for DC.

Good chance you're right just because more that half of the coordinators who become head coaches do fail, but you never know when and where the exceptions come from.  When the Bills hired McD many thought the same here.  While some here who hate the guy will likely respond that he's not a good HC, his record doesn't agree with that.  He and Beane have turned the team around.  There's been many good teams and coaches over the years who didn't win it all.

Having said all that do think the fact that Daboll took this long in his career to get where he is doesn't bode well for him.  One of the few coaches who only succeeded well into his career was Marv Levy, but he had a very stacked team.

Amazingly (probably due to Ralph's unwillingness to pay top dollar to an unproven head coach, which basically excluded the most coveted assistant coaches) McDermott is the 1st coach hired by the Bills for his 1st pro coaching job that succeeded.  All the rest failed.  The only truly successful Bills coaches were all retreads who had previously coached in the AFL or NFL.   Saban had coached the Boston Patriots, Knox the L.A. Rams,  Levy the K.C. Chiefs & Phillips the Denver Broncos.  No other coach beyond McDermott & these 4 ever finished above 500 as a Bills head coach.  Now the Bills have also failed with retreads, again due to Ralph's low salary structure.  The only time Ralph ever paid top dollar to bring in a head coach was when Chuck Knox came over from the Rams & by the end Ralph had alienated Knox with his cheapness including being the only NFL team in league history to lose the number 1 overall pick of the NFL draft to the CFL.

When we older fans say Ralph was cheap, it's not just a funny phrase.  We endured many seasons as league laughingstocks due to Ralph's unwillingness to spend unless he was backed into a corner with around 20-30,000 fans in the stands.

Did you not read the part where I said I’m kidding? You legitimately quoted it haha

What about all those players who gave 110% over the years. What a bunch of liars, I've lost all respect for them.

Not really.  Andy Reid runs that offensive show

Yeah, as long as Reid is carrying a play card on Sunday's Bieniemy will have an uphill battle for a job. At the end of his next contract I wonder if Eric will move along.

We lost Cousineau in 1979, before Knox's 2nd year as Bills head coach.  Knox was really POd about that and even though he coached the Bills 4 more seasons, it was the beginning of the end of Knox's losing patience with Ralph.

No, first overall picks aren't guaranteed to be great in the NFL the way they are in other leagues. Plus they cost a lot and if you miss on them it hurts your cap a lot more than a lower pick.

For every Burrow there is a Mayfield or Akili Smith.

OK somehow I was thinking Cousineau was in 83.  Or was it we got the extra 1st round pick in 83 because we traded his rights away??  Is that why I was thinking 83?

Didn’t hurt Doug Pederson or Matt Nagy getting jobs not holding the play card with Reid.  Not carrying a play card didn’t hurt Zac Taylor get Bengals job or Hackett getting hired in Denver.  Did it hurt Kevin O’Connell getting the Vikings job this week?
